  1. Allow special characters in comments such as zero width non-joiner, non-breaking space, non-breaking hyphen, forced line-breaks (not paragraph breaks), etc. and provide an option to display them like InDesign’s “Display Hidden Characters”.

It is an indispensable feature for workflows where copy editors and typesetters use PDF comments to correct texts that will then be imported into InDesign for review.

Furthermore, comment text fields should allow invoking macOS Emoji & Symbols palette (see https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/mchlp1560/mac) to easier input.

  3. You are not able to keep a tool selected any longer. If you use it once, then it reverts back to the cursor. Stamps, highlighter, comments, all of them. This had been a feature in Acrobat since I can remember and all of a sudden they removed it. WHY? Bring it back. There are several other people on here complaining of the same thing but if they don't respond, they say the issue is resolved. It is not in any way "resolved". Please bring back asap.

  5. I am working with Linde Engineering India (Linde AG) as Engineering consultant. Our daily routine job is to review various suppliers' documentation to meet the client requirement. Supplier submits the document which we review in .pdf using commenting tool. Previously we were using Acrobat 9 for this in Windows7. Now we are using Windows 10 for last more than 1 year and in that, we are only allowed to use Acrobat standard DC Version 2015.006.30033. In this Adobe Acrobat version, we are not able to edit the comments made by our peers / sub-ordinates before sending it back to Supplier

    Hi All,
This is as per the current design, we will keep your feedback in mind.

Could you please let us know if you are unlocking comments one by one.
Kindly take a note that you can unlock many/all comments in one go after selecting them in RHP.

  6. Hello,
Concerning the floating black tool bar that shows up when text is selected, it currently has only 5 functions (Highlight, Underline, Strike through, Copy & Edit text-images).
    My requests:
    1. Kindly make it customizable, so that users can add whatever buttons they like.
    2. Especially, make it such that users can add anything from 3-5 highlighters of different colors, so that I will not have to go through the tedious task of changing the color of the highlighter each time I want it changed.
    3. Kindly allow the "Add note to text" icon there either by default or as…

  7. Can you make comments private? i.e I want to send PDF to A&B via cloud, but I dont want A to see B comments and vice versa. Is this doable?

So there is no way to 'segregate' participants? I am wanting to share a file with people who I do not want to be able to see other participants comments. So what is the point of sharing I hear you ask? I want to share with internal staff, but only want external invitees to comment/mark up without seeing the internal discussion about what they have to say, as it may…

  9. at the same location from previous page when selecting a text block and try to highlight it, switches to previously highlighted text in previous page and change the whole text block to that previous text.
if ( Text in page 2) highlighted it will change to (text in page 1) in order to reverse this need to change the page and back again until it works
also, the selected text disappear after finishing from selecting along with the options that appears after selection.

    1. Create a PDF portfolio from any two PDF files
    2. Right click on one of the files on the left and choose Open File
    3. Go to the Comment tool
    4. Click Add Text Comment from the toolbar (the single line one)
    5. Type in a comment anywhere
    6. Click X to close the tab while the caret is still blinking

    Expected:
Asks you to save like it does with a non-portfolio PDF file.

    Actual:
Freezes and then crashes. Reproducible every time, occurs on multiple Windows accounts.

  11. For work I use multiple tools to add comments to PDFs. I have created a custom tool set with the tools I need to use the most. We are required to use specific colors depending on what we are commenting on. It would make it so much easier if I could make custom sets (all with the tools I use) and have each one be different color schemes.

A few examples of this are below:

    Custom Tool Set #1
    Highligher – Color/Green
    Text Box – Border/Red; Fill/Green; Text Color/Blue
    Arrow – Color/Green
    Rectangle – Color/Green

    Custom Tool Set #2
    Highligher…

  12. There used to be a great feature where you could click a box to "keep tool selected" so you keep using the same tool, over and over again without clicking on the Icon again and again and again. It was especially useful when reviewing a large document where you wanted to highlight several passages or for adding text, etc.

  14. Acrobat (years ago) had this ability, I believe.

Currently, we can expand/collapse all comments.
We can also expand/collapse comments for an entire page.

Please add an option at the comment level that would expand/collapse the replies to a specific comment.

When a page has 30 markups, and each markup has 5 replies (yes, this has happened :-)), there are now 150 comments showing in the comment list for just that single page.

Being able to collapse a comment thread would be a massive improvement in usability of the commenting feature, I believe.

  16. Please provide an option to keep a stamp selected to use multiple times in a row. For instance, I use stamps to place checkmarks on documents and I have to click the stamp each time I want to place it as it deselects after every placement.

    Hi,
You can achieve this by pin tool option.
    Please find the steps:
    -Open any PDF
    -Load comment app
-Click on Stamp tool icon and then click on any stamp —> Stamp gets selected
-Click on the pin tool icon(see the attached snapshot for reference)
-Now apply stamp, it will not get deselected.

Kindly let us know if it helps or you need more info.

    Regards,
    Arvind Yadav

  17. It would be incredibly useful to be able to set keyboard shortcuts for the "Set Status: None, Accepted, Completed, Cancelled, and Rejected" commenting tools.

Set status, to me is an advanced feature used to enable more efficient workflows, adding keyboard shortcuts would add even more efficiency.

  18. Adobe acrobat needs British English (as opposed to American English)

I am sick of seeing the red line for the following obvious reasons
    behavIOUR
    colOUR
    SummarISE
    etc

American English is not the standard, its a variation on the theme.
Please add British English to the program

  19. This is the biggest single thing that reduces my productivity in Acrobat DC. So often I need to paste some text from inside the PDF into the comment field. Suppose the text is white font on a black background, what is that going to look like in the comment box? In what universe would retaining the formatting as the default make any sense at all?
