  2. Where did the "auto detect pen hardware to enable markup" go? It was in preferences/commenting/making comments. Without this feature acrobat is worthless for commenting on a touch screen with a stylus. I can't imagine anyone would think it was a good idea to remove, hopefully it is just located somewhere else. Also note, STOP CHANGING the UI!!! This is the last issue I will ever try to resolve. I am sick of having to google how to undo new "features". In the future I will simply move on to a more consistent software.

In the latest update of Acrobat DC, we have modernize the commenting experience and at the same time, made it very clean and intuitive to use. As part of that, the checkbox is moved to the right click menu of the comment.

    Open comment>Right Click>Add Checkmark

Please also note that both the sort and filter options are available for the check mark.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and will consider adding the check mark by default for future updates of Acrobat DC.

However there is one workaround to make the checkbox appear in one step by using the keyboard shortcut SHIFT + K .

  3. Please create a manual sort/ shuffle function for comments to improve team project and instruction communication.

The idea is to be able to shuffle comments around and print them in a 'manual sort' order rather than most recently updated.
Often comments need to be viewed in a particular order to make sense.
Or they may need to be actioned in a particular order to work properly

This is especially true for visual or construction/ workflow based projects but we don't always think "in order" so being able to shuffle our comments would allow us to improve our communication before sharing…

  5. I want to center only selected text within a text box.

For example, I want most of the text to be, say, left justified and then have just a word at the bottom (in this case the word "GLOBAL") be centered.

I could do that in Pro XI. Now that I have Pro DC, if I select part of the text and click on "center," ALL the text centers, not just the text I've selected.

  6. In the comments pane, is there an option to hide the page numbers or make them non-selectable? I'm finding it difficult to maneuver/advance to the next comment using the down arrow (or tab). With the upgrade to DC, Adobe "selects" the page number as you're tabbing through. i can no longer smoothly go from comment to comment

  7. PLZ offer a "read mode" that highlighting without a comment pop-up!!!

For many times when I'm reading I'd like to highlight some words but have nothing to comment- however it creates an empty pop-up... When I sometimes have to find out a useful comment I have to go through hundreds of empty comments in the comment list.

  8. Steps:
    1. Turn off tabbed browsing (if it's not already)
    2. Open multiple documents, at least one with comments.
    3. Open the comments panel and click a comment to select it.
    4. Close the window.

    Expected result:
One document closes or asks to save if modified.

    Result:
    Acrobat crashes

  9. Draw tool properties cycle is not purely fixed, when using keyboard shift+d, Cloud Tool Properties appears in one cycle, and not the next one, as in if I started out with Arrow Tool Properties, if pressing shift+d 8 times doesn't lead to Cloud Tool Properties, the next cycling through drawing tool properties Cloud Tool Properties would show up upon pressing shift+d 8 times, and then the next cycle Cloud Tool Properties would not show up, and the next cycle it would show up again.

Hi User, Thanks for reaching out to us.
The workaround for this is to click on the text properties icon bar to hide the properties so that you can easily see the text box.
Please let us know if this works for you.

For the second ask, can you explain the issue again as we are not clear with the ask here.

Hi User, Thanks for reaching out to us.
Are you facing this issue only for highlight or for other annots as well ?

Can you uncheck the commenting preference “Automatically open comment pop-ups for comment other than notes” and try to create another highlight. Please let us know if this resolves the issue for you.

  14. Allow me to use commenting tools multiple times without having to choose them again (and again, and again). Perhaps a double click to make the tool active until a single click turns it off. At the present time the pencil tool is the only one that stays active once it is selected.

  15. Hi all

(Mac Acrobat Pro - all up to date)

In the comments column the selected comment goes a slightly darker grey.

For me this still does not make this comment stand out enough.

Is there a way to change this to something more prevalent?

    Thanks in advance

    DC

  16. 1) In the old comment pane, there was text that accompanied each entry identifying it as an underline, strikethrough, replacement, or insert. Now, the text identifier is gone and we only have an arcane symbol. This is awful. I work with clients who are less familiar with Acrobat and this only makes it more difficult for them to understand the nature of my comments. Please bring back the text labels that identify comment pane entries as underlines, strikethroughs, replacements, or inserts.

    2) You know not everyone uses Acrobat on a collaborative team of a dozen people, right? I use it…

  17. It is not intuitive any more to bring up the panel on the right showing all comments in the document. I figured it out eventually, but should be a much easier, more user-friendly option.

  18. Document made in Acrobat Pro DC 2018 and sent for review.
Came back with multiple comments. Those of them that got fixed got marked. Then I could come back later and show only unmarked comments. It works just fine in 2018 version. But with New Acrobat Pro DC 2019.008.20080 it does not work. As soon as i click on the filter button to sort the comments the whole Acrobat gets jammed. I have tried several times, also restarted computer. So there must be something wrong here.

    Hi ,
Thanks for reaching out to us. We regret the inconvenience caused to you.
We have tried at our end to reproduce the issue but we are unable to do so.
Can you provide the review link of the review file or a local copy of the review file with all the comments to investigate further ?

  19. please make an arrow-end drawing tool. With this it is easy to show connection between two ideas in a text.

  20. As shown on the screenshot writing the Chinese character [lìng] (the drawed on the left but the result when closed the text box is de left drawing of a character). Also as seen in the screenshot the intended is the still open text box and after when I closed it, continuing to next comment, it becomes another character.
The problem is both on the Android version and the Windows version of Adobe Reader.
    Pleas fix this soon.
Thanks a lot. You're doing a really great program.
