A few years ago you could make in Indesign a page flip. Now you can do several things in Acraobat DC but no more page flips for webpages.

  3. The ff ligature does not render in semibold Adobe Garamond Pro. It produces what looks like a little capital 'I'. Bold works, but not semibold. I'm using Adobe Acrobat 2017.

  4. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html#AcrobatRibbonisnotavailabeinOffice2016orOffice365applicationsonWindows

Instructions from this have been followed, along with instructions from Microsoft to verify the add-in is correctly set in the registry. In both occasions, with Adobe Acrobat Pro version 20.012.20041, the Adobe/Acrobat ribbon is not showing in Excel/Word 2016 or in Word/Excel O365.

Support agent requested submitting a bug report.

I've installed the application via mst, without Creative Cloud for enterprise purposes (mst attached), and even on a fresh build of Windows 10, the ribbon doesn't show up.

  5. Tagged PDFs exported from InDesign drop spaces between words. This occurs in the content at the end of lines, most often in List Items, but also in paragraphs. It occurs nearly all the time in lists, causing screen readers to mispronounce the run-together words unless they are separated by punctuation or the 2nd word has an initial cap.

This has been a problem for quite a while. Very time consuming to fix -- by adding space manually in Acrobat DC or adding actual text.

Working on proprietary material here, cannot forward example files and I do not create the native…

  7. Adobe Acrobat DC (20.012.20048) - the right click combine PDFs function doesn't always work and need to close open PDFs first. The previous versions were fine (before the logo turned black).

  8. Acrobat DC has become a royal pain in the behind. First of all, with this NUL license concept, it takes way, way too long to convert Word documents to .pdf. It sits there doing nothing for a long time, and finally wakes up and begins the process. Is it possible you people don't test these things? This always happens now, ever since your brainchild change. Secondly, it keeps telling me that it failed to install a version 2020.009.20063, when that version is already installed! What a nuisance of a system this has become.

  9. I like the ability to capture HTML pages together with images into one PDF document.

Unfortunately the web has changed and many web pages use Javascript to fill out the DOM tree, as a result content is missing from pages like:

    https://ropercenter.cornell.edu/ipoll/search?q=dreams

which makes a blank page PDF. There are tools out there that can make a capture of modern web pages using Chromium, PhantomJS, or HTMLUnit to run the Javascript. One can be found here:

    https://conifer.rhizome.org/

sometimes these work, but the WARC file and the WARC file players are awful. It reminds me of the times that you go…

  10. Why in this day and age have you still not added any functionality to combine emails into a PDF directly?! Enormous amounts of global productivity is wasted each day on having to individually save thousands of emails individually into a PDF format in order to be able to then bind them into a PDF. You could actually just resolve the issue directly and make everyone's lives a little less ******.

    Sorry for your inconvenience.
It seems InDesign hangs for you. It is not clear how Acrobat is involved in the process. Can you please explain the workflow?

  12. Retain page labels from the individual files when combining pdfs. Particularly needed for engineering drawings. Also consider allowing manually typing page labels, which would be faster than using the current dialog for non-sequential pages. Bluebeam Revu already does both of these tasks. I would prefer to stay with Acrobat, but Bluebeam is a strong pull because they understand what technical jobs need.

  13. Building PDFs from Dita open toolkit.
PDF builds fine (toolkit renders no errors) BUT doc tab/title contains
    "XMP structure: 1"
Open document properties and edit doc title to desired value
Click OK - XMP metadata error occurs.
Working with Acrobat Pro DC on Windows 10 Enterprise.

  14. When creating a PDF from a .docx file from within Microsoft Word, when PDF/A compliance is set to "PDF/A-1a", text boxes will have borders in the PDF even when they do not have borders in the Word document itself. No other PDF/A compliance setting exhibits this bug.

  15. When converting from Word (O365 ProPlus desktop) to PDF using the Acrobat add-in (Acrobat PDFMaker 20 for Word), lists are not transferring correctly. (Styles are of course used in Word to create the lists properly.) Nested lists lose the nesting and become one long list. Lists that cross pages either: combine the last item on the first page with the first item on the next page in the <LI>/<LBody> tag of the former; or create two separate lists for each page.

  17. I have a very annoying problem converting Word documents to PDF.

I use a lot of hyperlinks to PDF documents right into the Word document, then I export the Word document using Create Adobe PDF command in the ribbon.
I've noticed that when I the link points to a PDF with a filename with two or less characters the resulting PDF have a broken link.
I mean that when I link PDF file like "0.pdf" or "00.pdf" the link is broken, whereas "000.pdf" is correct.

I'm using Windows 10 with the lastest Acrobat DC and Office 365.

  18. Remove the auto page launch after the installation / activation / updating of the Adobe Acrobat Chrome Extension. Or provide a group policy to disable it.
The problem is on Citrix or none persistent VDIs were the users get always a fresh user profile. Users see then on first browser launch the Adobe page instead of our company Portal.
The old Adobe Reader extension had this feature but not the new one.

  19. Portfolio (mode) needs improvement. Sorting needs to be available so that sorting is possible. Removing and adding at the back is not very good design. Drag and drop of document sections should be available. (Using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017)**** I just saw a post that is available on the Adobe DC version. (My company has not purchased that yet). Wish 2017 could have a patch update to make it happen.

  20. Adobe Acrobat has been compatible with the major business application like MS Outlook or Lotus/IBM Notes since a long time.

With the version 10 of IBM Notes (that was October 2018) Adobe Acrobat 2017 is no longer compatible with this email suite.

The PDFMaker Addin did a great job in creating PDFs from Mail.
Unlike just "printing to PDF" the right border has not been cut when the text was too long and the PDFMaker did include all attachments from the mail into the final PDF.

So the Adobe Acrobat was a perfect companion for documenting approvals and other buisiness…
