Help on highlighting fields
I have a fillable .pdf and needed help to turn on the field highlights. Searching for 'show fillable fields' was not useful on your tutorials and help pages, the switch is buried in the preferences menu.
1) Simple, direct answers to simple questions!
2) This switch should be easier to find, placed somewhere in a View menu. Uh, might I suggest 'View Fillable Fields'?1 voteYou can try searching “highlight” as keyword in the RHP and select the option easily without going to Preferences. Please ensure that the PDF is form.
Thank You for sharing a suggestion.

In Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - add a "subtraction" option in the drop-down box in the Text Fields Properties Box. This would be VERY helpful!
Not having a subtraction option in the Text Field Properties reduces the value of the calculate function. The current "workaround" of inputting a negative number to allow for addition is a poor alternative.
4 votesHi Gary
You can either use a custom JavaScirpt calculation or the simplified field notation calculation, if your field names follow the required convention, with the “-” operator you will be able to perform subtraction.
However, we value your suggestion/ideas and we will have the engineering notified. Should we need more information inregard to this, we shall connect with you

Why can't i find any real help?
Why can't i talk to an expert about the issues I'm having? All the tutorials are much too basic and scrolling through all the reams of posts is exhausting and never results in an answer. I need advice on how to save a pdf. file with radio buttons and fillable sections so i can send it to a client for completion. Why is there no detailed best practice on how to use pre-flight so that forms work for your clients?

Edit fill and stroke in Form fields
I can't find a way to make a permanent change to appearance of form fields. It will keep having the blue color on top at the end user. In the properties panel it is shown as no fill and stroke. I can see a lot of people asking for this feature - but no solution yet. See https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2467569
1 voteHello ..
Seems like the text field has “Allow Rich Text Formatting” enabled. You can try Cmd + E on MAC and Ctrl + E On Windows to pull the toolbar, and save.
You can refer https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-form-field-properties.html#options_tab_for_form_field_properties
I hope this helps

Form field autodetection - limit length of form field names (T) and alternate field name (TU)
When running the form field autodetection there are e.g. multiline text form fields detected. The names of those fields and the alternate field names have a length of up-to 2249 characters (consisting of nearly the whole page text).
I know that theoretically text strings can be 32K or greater however a meaningful name should be much shorter. So would it be possible to limit the size to a meaningful length of lets say 255? In case no string can be detected the name is "undefined_28" which is good and short...
Thanks1 voteI have forwarded your request to engineering. It will be picked up after prioritization. We will contact you if we need some more information on this.

Mohave 10.14.3 and Acrobat DC fillable document saving problem-
If I get a fillable form from IRS or other government site that needs to be filled in, I can save it to my computer one time. But if I reopen the document to add other information to a fillable area, I cannot save the document a second time. I get an error message saying the file contains "a number that is out of range". This happens for documents from many different websites, so I think the error comes when the document is saved using Mohave. Once saved the "producer" under…1 voteThank you for reporting the issue.
Please check that the form is not being opened in Apple Preview, it happens to get corrupted. Try downloading again from IRS website and instead use Adobe Acrobat/Adobe Reader.

Maximum font size setting for form fill
Allow the setting of maximum font size for a field when creating a fillable form. This will prevent huge text in a field if there is a small amount of text but would still allow text to reduce in size automatically to fit within the field if needed.

right click to edit fill in text: underlining, bold, italics, superscript subscript and font
When writing in the fill in portion of the form, I used to be able to right click and underline, bold, italicize, highlight, superscript or subscript my text. I am no longer able to do this and I am super frustrated.
1 votePlease go back to Prepare Forms> edit mode and enable “Allow Rich Text Formating” for the text field
Once done, you should be able to get the formatting options under right click context menu.
I hope this helps.

Dropdown empty default value
if i create form i need to create dropdown where is default empty value and user chose something only if he need it
1 voteBasically, a drop-down field can’t have a completely blank value (unless you set the values using a custom script).
You can add a value that’s a single space, though, or an underscore, or something like “SELECT ITEM” and set it as the default value.

Dynamic menu - Hit or Miss
Edit Menu > Form Options: does not always show when opening a Form PDF. In Acrobat Standard DC it is hit or miss as to if the Edit Menu show the Form Options selection.
What makes the 'dynamic menu' feature sense a pdf form?
1 voteEdit > “Form Options” > is visible (default) in following two cases -
1. A reader extended PDF is opened in Acrobat.
2. A distributed PDF.The menu option is also, available in same session for a non-Reader Extended PDF (or non-distributed) if they are opened with a Reader Extended PDF (and/or Distributed PDF).
That ways the “Edit > Form Option” stays visible until user exit Acrobat application. Please note, Edit > “Form Options” > does not appear when we are creating form from scratch because as an author he/she has the advantage of using Prepare Form Tools.

Multiline Form Preset Line Height
I would like to have a Text Field Property that would allow presetting of line spacing on multi line text fields. Currently, it appears that it can only be adjusted after there is already text in the field that would be submitted by the form filler.

Change Defaults in Prepare Forms
During the process of preparing a fillable form from a template, there are certain style attributes that have to be changed to meet my personal style preferences (e.g. font, check-box/radio-box options, form field attributes, and so on).
Performing these changes on simple forms is not a difficult task but, when dealing with an extensive (e.g. multi-page, multi-field type form) template, this process can be pain-stakeingly tedious and result in lack of continuity.
A feature which would allow the user to change the defaults in the Prepare Form feature so that the fillable form would be created with the user specified…

Bug: Java Script Form Fields
A Java Script Checkbox that makes a field visible or hidden based on the condition is not functioning properly. When first opening the form, the box does nothing. If I click on "Prepare Form" tool and immediately close, the button works as it should. If Adobe is closed and the form is reopened, the checkbox stops working again.
