  2. In order to run OCR for wider images, some users suggested a workaround to crop the image, run OCR for the first half, then restore the image to the original size, crop again the second half, then run OCR again and finally restore the image to its orignal size.

There are two bugs with this approach:
    1) It is only possible to restore the image to its original size when using the option "Searchable Image (Exact)".
    2) After re-running the OCR for the second half of the file, the OCR for the first half is dumped.

    This is also a…

  4. Idea: make it work as documented. So far all my attempts to download ALL my adobe scan scans to my computer fail. Variously too many files to zip (I do NOT want them zipped I want them downloaded as is) and when zipped to a binder .zip file then the download simply fails.
I have a report due and this is screwing me up completely. I had hoped I could rely on these programs, but it is letting me down big time. Two hours so far and a simple download of scans fails at every turn. Am I epxected to…

  6. There is an issue with the "Review recognized text" feature. It fails to properly update the OCR text when a correction is made. It erroneously replaces the special character "•" with "€" upon clicking Accept. So for example, the slogan "Cleaner Air • Safer Roads" will be saved incorrectly as "Cleaner Air € Safer Roads". I'll happily provide the example document via email if requested.

I'm running MacOS MacOS Big Sur Version 11.0 Beta (20A5384c) and Acrobat Pro DC Version 2020.012.20048

  9. Scanning multiple pages with a Canon MX922 all-in-1, Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron laptop. First page scans, additional pages feed through the ADF but only page one appears on screen frozen showing "Optimizing..." Acrobat DC automatically updated on 5/15/2020, as did Windows 10. Now can only scan one page at a time. Appears to be an issue with multiple users.

  12. Hi, Adobe is not picking up my scanner when I try to scan. It does however pickup my printer which is the scanner/copier printer (3 in 1).

    How do I correct this?

  13. Please develope OCR for Tibetan and Devanagari (More then 120 languages use it such as Hindi, Nepali, Marathi, Maithili, Awadhi, Newari and Bhojpuri and Classical Sanskrit). This would benefit millions of people and would be a huge contribution to humanitarian sciences, which deal with manuscripts in these languages, trying to retrieve ancient wisdome that is in much need in these modern times.

  14. Hi,

I am using the Adobe scan app and the scans are uploaded to document cloud. I can see and open the files from within Acrobat Pro 2017 in the Document Cloud section. However, when I click on the "Adobe Scan" category under file lists, it tells me that this folder is empty. But shouldn't the Adobe Scan files be shown here? This seems like a bug to me.

  15. I'm trying to OCR photos of text on a PC screen. I'd think OCR would do a much better job if I could give it hints, such as:

    • the text to recognize is in a monospaced font (now, it tries to use a font with variable character widths, frequently leading to words with spaces in the middle of them)

    • the text to recognize has regular line spacing

Also, it would do much better if I could tell it:

    • proceed line by line; don't jump all over the place. OCR sometime reorders the content of tables in strange ways.

    Attached is…

  16. Using iMac running Catalina OS, latest update and Brother MFCL3770CDW. When I create a document from scanner in Acrobat, the scan command triggers the Mac scanner interface. While black & white scanning works fine, there is a consistent error message when attempting to scan in color. The message is that the color profile chosen is not supported. Since I cannot choose the color profile, I am not sure what to do about this. It is a major headache.

  18. To minimize size and keep a good quality the support of AVIF pictures should be considered. In most cases it gives you just what you want, small sizes and great quality. Especially for archiving scans in color it's really nice, even for a mix of pictures, text and grained colors.
