  1. I work in the legal industry and we often have large collections of documents where some contain OCR while others require OCR. It would be great if we could easily identify the documents that require OCR to speed up the batch processing of large collections. Additionally, with the availability of LLMs and image recognition, it would be great if you could utilize these to vastly improve the quality of the OCR output.

  2. Acrobat PRO 2020 - Running text recognition rotates random pages wrongly

We have testet and confirmed the problem does NOT exist in Adobe Acrobat 2017, but it does happen in Acrobat DC and Acrobat PRO 2020

Due to company security policy we run offline versions of the software with local license verification.

When doing OCR or Text recognition nomatter what we do, it randomly rotate pages during the scanning process. No matter what settings we set.

  3. Dear Adobe team, please add adobe scan to Microsoft Surface Pro (X).

At the moment, in order to use Adobe scan, you need to use your cell phone and then upload the scan to the cloud.

On the one hand this is very time consuming, on the other hand it requires an active internet connection, which cannot always be guaranteed, especially when you are not at home.

With an integration of Adobe Scan on Surface Pro (X), you could make very fast professional scans offline.

I know that you have added Adobe Scan to the iPad, which could be compared…

  4. I am working at an MSP currently. Two separate customers are experiencing issues with printing/scanning after update 2020.009.20063 on Reader and Acrobat DC.

If you try to scan a document that is multiple pages it will freeze after the first page.

We attempted repairs and reinstalls but were unsuccessful with both.

    Workstations are running W10.

    Thank you.

  5. To minimize size and keep a good quality the support of AVIF pictures should be considered. In most cases it gives you just what you want, small sizes and great quality. Especially for archiving scans in color it's really nice, even for a mix of pictures, text and grained colors.

  6. How long do I have to wait for Acrobat to recognize Thai text from scanned images/documents

I am trying to recognize Thai text from the enhance document tool but Thai is not listed in the languages available. While I can't use this fucntion I also have to pay the same price as the others who can benefit from this feature.

  7. Hello,

I have noticed that some of the other OCR software performs better than Adobe Acrobat DC OCR function... i.e. Power PDF. I wonder if you can improve it's functionality as far as recognizing the characters is concerned?...

    Regards,
    Jeff Paarsa

  8. The Canon Image Formula DR-C125 comes with a native program that removes blank pages while scanning. I use this to scan, and then switch to Acrobat to edit thereafter. It would be nice if Acrobat had a blank page removal option.

  9. I would love the ability to rename my scanned documents while viewing them in Preview Pane in my Explorer folders. I currently need to preview them, remember detailed information, close that view, then rename the document -- hoping I remembered my information correctly. It would save a TON of time and make us more efficient. Thanks!

  10. An ocean of old texts are in Latin. Many of these need OCR. Support on this would be most welcome as they are often the subject of academic work.

  13. I have Acrobat Pro and tried to scan a pdf with OCR which gave me a message which said something about I have to pay for the OCR feature. This led me to finding the below support doc indicating OCR is part of Acrobat Pro.

Clicking on the same exact button again it brought up the ocr tools instead of displaying the message, but I wouldn't have necessarily thought to try the same thing twice until after searching the web for which adobe product I would need to purchase to use OCR in Acrobat Pro (it's built in as it…

  15. New Acrobat GUI with controls on left > Scan & OCR > Correct recognized text > previously could begin typing into "Recognized as" field. Now have to click into field before beginning typing. And previously could hit "Enter" to Accept but now have to click on Accept. New GUI is much more time consuming having to use mouse. Please return putting keyboard entry control into first character of "Recognized as" field and allow Enter key to do "Accept". Thanks.

  17. Acrobat should have the functionality to automate processes like OCR with a hotfolder. Let's say you scanned smth, the file arrives at your selected folder which is a hotfolder -> Acrobat should now perform an OCR without any further input of the user.

  18. Acrobat DC for Mac's OCR continuously mis-recognizes standardized OCR characters such as those on checks and commercial forms. Those characters are designed to be highly readable at high speed and a standard quality scan (let alone a high quality one) should be sufficient for proper recognition by Acrobat.

Similarly, it routinely tries to translate address codes (the string of full and half-height vertical bars used by postal readers to sort mail), even if it does occasionally recognize the entire code as one "word." Fortunately, it usually includes it for review, but it shouldn't be difficult to recognize the standardized format,…
