  1. Some users have already encountered this problem as well:
If a PMI is selected in a 3D-PDF, it doesn't highlight the linked feature (surface) per default. Apparently, you need to set 3 settings, this is universal across the latest releases and different platforms:

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pmi-linked-faces-in-3d-pdf-do-not-highlight/m-p/12734910

While two of them aren't critical, the deactivation of the protected mode of the Adobe Reader is not an acceptable solution if you run these PDFs in a commercial environment.
Are there any other solutions? Any ideas how to solve this?

Since I see 3D PDFs as the future standard medium for 3D info exchange,…

  2. The reasons for signature list seems to be fixed. It would be nice to be able to add custom reasons to the list without editing the registry.

  3. Why do I have to unlock PDF files from the Internet in order to print their content? That doesn't make sense.

When I print a document, I do not confirm the file to be save. Instead, I'm just converting the PDF file to an even saver format: the printed page.

  4. After creating a pdf file with MANY bookmarks through a professional tax preparation program, I save it, password protect it, close it and email it to a client. When I go back and open the saved password protected file, all the bookmarks are gone! WHY? Is it the password protecting that wipes them out? I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and I pay for multiple copies on my computers but this is not acceptable.

  5. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for Windows

    Version 2022.001.20169 | 64bit

We statistically analyze the binary Acrobat.exe, and find several potential Null Pointer Dereference problems due to missing null check.

We mark these problems with the corresponding disassemble code address and pseudo code of IDA in the uploaded pdf.

  7. We trying to use a digital signature field to centralize the signature into a particular location and we need this signature to be printed only in the pdf file. So that the next time a new signature is inserted, the old one will not be available to the user.

  8. My organization has to produce administrative records for court filings, and has to Bates number the documents. Many of them are digitally signed, and we have to break the digital signature (by printing to MS XPS and back to PDF) to be able to Bates number them. Considering that Bates numbering simply adds numbers to the pages but doesn't otherwise compromise the digital signature, please consider developing a way to add Bates numbers to be applied to digitally signed documents.

  10. After the last update to the 2022.011.20142 version, which has the "Microsoft AIP" plugin bundled in the installation, Adobe reader in the 32 bit version won't open AIP protected PDF files.
The program will start a background proccess but Adobe won't open, only after ending the task you'll be able to open adobe reader at all.
The problem is solved when reinstalling the 64 bit version, but this is a headache to any organization that has multiple devices with the 32 bit version.

  11. Some organizations have security standards like disabling cloud storage so users cannot access data from out of office devices. Currently there is no FULL way to disable cloud storage. You can implement registry keys to stop to storage however there are work arounds that will still let you store data. Would love to have an option to completely stop the storage without having to implement registry keys or port blocks on the entire organizations computers / network. Im actually shocked this isnt a feature already.

  13. Acrobat Reader DC 22.001.20117 completely freezes in this scenario:
    * deselect from the signature validation preferences "Verify signatures when the document is opened";
    * open a signed document and validate the signature(s) (tested using "Validate All".
The only way is to close it from the Task Manager.

  15. It would be useful to be able to set an expiry date on the password. I sell 1 year licenses of resources and password protect them. Ideally I would like to have the password expire in a year so the customer can't access it unless they purchase a new license

  17. I've been using digital signatures in Adobe Acrobat for YEARS. Just got a new PC for work and digital signatures are not working properly or consistently. Documents that need signatures always need two. The second person (no matter who it is) always has problems and the experience changes each time. Sometimes, the certification toolbar won't come up. Sometimes the visible signature option is not available. Sometimes the software goes completely black. There is never any error message. The software just doesn't work for the second signature. Both brand new machines. Both have exactly the same software versions. Both use the…

  18. A suggestion for Adobe. It would be so great if pdf signature field properties could be configured to include the signatory's email address, or could be scripted to pull an email address entered in a text field in the same form, so that when the form is uploaded to Adobe Sign it already has signature fields with email addresses, and is ready to send for signatures. without having to type in email addresses and place signature fields. That would be a terrific option.

  20. Using Win11 I have found a method to decrypt PDF's with only the access password and not being the document's owner.

After encrypting a PDF using Acrobat Pro you can send the file over Microsoft Teams, saving it to the sharepoint/onedrive file, you can then open the document in browser from the sharepoint location opposed to the local original file location and only the access password is required. The editing restriction password is no longer required and you can copy and paste the file contents.
