  2. While within Acrobat, can't open files.
Type command-O to navigate to a PDF file.
Box opens to display files, but application crashes the second I start to navigate, for instance, go up a directory. This just started happening.
Using Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra) and Creative Cloud Acrobat DC.

Note: I CAN open PDF files from the finder. Will launch Acrobat if it isn't running already. Just not when I'm in the application.

  3. Please add a setting to preferences to hide page controls by default on each new PDF.

I don't want page controls docked to the top of the screen because I never use them, so when I choose "Hide Page Controls" I would like it if they stayed hidden. Yet, every time I open a new PDF, there they are again. I have to choose "hide page controls" on every new document. They hide content on the PDF by constantly getting in the way. You either have to drag it around or choose the setting I mentioned earlier to see the…

  6. Please give the ability to open the Organize Pages Window Pane with a keyboard shortcut command (or the ability for a user to make one). It's an implementation that would have a huge impact on the everyday workflow of our buisness.

  7. During troubleshooting scenarios we periodically need to save a problematic PDF file as a PS file to regenerate it with the distiller. As a result, the bookmarks are lost. We would like to see an option to export bookmarks from a problem PDF file and be able to import them into a working PDF file. We understand there are 3rd party solutions that can achieve this but we work with highly sensitive data and would prefer an Acrobat native solution that would be available in Acrobat 2017 Classic and Acrobat DC.

  9. It would be very useful to be able to scroll 2 pdfs simultaneously as in office tools.
Best would be to be able to scroll side by side with the possibility to do it Synchronously or not (in case of different number of pages).

  10. After updating to this version, on startup the application displays an empty dialog box and completely freezes, forcing you to quit the application in Task Manager. Repair, uninstall/reinstall, clearing temp files all did not work.
Starting application on the administrator account allowed it to go through the dialog box which had to do with resetting default apps then allowed the application to startup and run correctly on the limited user account.

  11. Strange but nor Acrobat Pro DC, nor Reader don't have "close all files" menu.

Yes, we can use it this script - https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/creating-close-all-docs-menu-item , but we can't use it with script shortcuts as CTRL+SHIFT+F4 or CTRL+ALT+W

    That's annoying!

Please re-add close all files feature in "File" menu!

  12. Just the other day my Acrobat DC suddenly started popping up a "recent files" window every single time I go to do anything on my computer, even do a google search or look at email, if Acrobat is open. This is incredibly annoying because it stops everything I'm doing and I have to close that window before I can keep going. I don't even need a recent files list but this new popup is driving me nuts. If you don't make it possible to disable it or just get rid of it altogether I'm switching to another app.

  13. I want to open another instance of an already opened file using Acrobat pro 2017. This version has tabbed display of files. I can open the next instance in another window, bot not in the same window under another tab. There is a work around to it in the forum discussion. https://forums.adobe.com/message/11222204
But this is not an elegant method. I hope Adobe will provide the function that will allow it to be open in a new tab.

    Hi,

If your Previous session had any PDF’s launched when it was last Closed, then there is a Menu item Under File→ Reopen PDFs from Last Session which will open the pdfs that were launched in your previous session before closing.

Attaching a snapshot to help you with.

Also there is a Preference unde Edit→Preferences→General which ould automatically open the PDFs from the last sesssion as you Open the Acrobat / Reader application. Here is more info on that : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new.html#PreferencetoreopenPDFsfromthelastAcrobatsession

Hope this resolves your concern ?

  15. I would like to open a the same book twice , and that is to view different pages of the same book,
it is helpful while studying a book and wanting to quick reread a paragraph from another chapter

trying to open the same pdf for the second time will only send me to the already open window of the same pdf

    a side-feature,
if you decide to add this feature
sync-ing the pdf between both instances after editting would also be great

  16. Acrobat DC is an absolute PITA to use. It has no UX continuity with the rest of the CC suite, the tools are allocated to the vaguest of places and the basic functionality that is regularly used, Marquee Zoom Tool especially, are relegated to the top menu when they should be in the header with the page controls. These are tools that are regularly used, unlike the '-' and '+' buttons and search tool that are in clear view.

It's a pointless, redundant redesign that causes more problems and waste of time than it actually serves. Bring back the layout…

  18. At file access problems while open last session (2nd menu entry in file menu) acrobat shows an pop-up notice only telling there is a problem (s. attached image, German version) but not showing which file this error-pop-up belongs to.
Hence, the user is less informed to look for the problem and probably open the file manually.
In case of more then one file having an actual access problem a Summary and a "try again" option would be very helpful.
Belongs to Acrobat Pro DC 2019.012.20035.4663.

  19. The Translation of the newly introduced function "open last session" in the actual (2019.012.20035.4663) German GUI is "PDFs auf letzter Sitzung öffnen" the better Translation would be "PDFs aus letzter Sitzung öffnen".
    You see the typo ?
