  1. Okay - so this morning, Acrobat decided to switch into "new acrobat" mode. Yay! Except for the fact that all of my documents open in new tabs in the same window now - which is terribly inconvenient for me. What's worse, is that the option to turn this off has been removed from Preferences. 30 minutes ago, I could go Edit->Preferences->General and clear the "Open documents as new tabs in the same window" option. Now, after it switch to "new acrobat" mode, this option is no longer available. So I switched back to "old acrobat". Boo!

  3. Where did the zoom tools go? They used to be visible in the main tool bar... I mean, I get there are other ways to zoom in and out of my pdf, but why remove such a common functionality? Please bring them back.

    Hi,

Thanks for Reaching out to us for your concerns.
We have not removed the zoom tools from the main toolbar and those are already there.

I assume you might have undocked the Toolbar so you may be getting a black floating window over the document area which would be having the zoom tools.

I would request you to kindly Dock it back to the Main toolbar by clicking the rightmost icon from that floating window.

Also, if this is not the case i would request you to kindly do a right click on your main toolbar and select “Reset Toolbar” from the context menu. (This way your main toolbar will get back to the default state which would anyways be having the Zoom tools.

Let me know if this fixes your concern

    Thanks
    Ayush Jain

  5. The new toolbar that hovers on top of the document obscures the reading area on certain devices (like laptops with smaller screens and netbooks) especially when the comments pane is open. It's bizarre to me that Adobe didn't account for different use cases before implementing something like this. It's like whoever made this change viewed their 4k monitor at 100% without ever zooming in and said, "Yeah, this is good. No reason to view this in any other way."

    Possible solutions.

    1. Ditch the floating toolbar altogether. It seems pointless to be able to move the toolbar to a different area…

  6. The new version of Acrobat is the worst program I have ever seen in any category. I dont usually use vulgar language, but the long list of 4 letter words available would be the only way to fully describe the latest user interface. Everyone makes mistakes, but the entire team that is responsible for this product should be fired. All tools and details needed to navigate and manipulate a file were so easy prior to this useless version.

  7. Just opened a PDF file that I had worked on yesterday, and now all the menus are set out differently. How can I revert back to old display?

I want Adobe to look the same as it did yesterday. Confusion causes loss of productivity.

  8. As of version (mac) 23.6.20320.0, the vertical scroll bars were removed, as confirmed by your support team.

Why oh why? This breaks workflows. Please add them back, or minimally add a preference to enable them.

(Note that they sometimes appear temporarily, but then disappear.)

  9. Return the Acrobat interface to something professional, similar to InDesign, Photoshop, etc, instead of the childish and dysfunctional mess.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us for your concerns.

Can you please let me know the exact version number of Adobe Acrobat DC that your are working on ?

I Tried this at my end and Drag drop in Page Thumbnails panel in a pdf / across pdfs is working fine for me.

Also i would request you to kindly share with me a screen recording video of the steps that you are trying to do here ?

You can send me that at ajain@adobe.com

    Thanks

  11. Hate the new layout and design, everything is now back to front and upside down in terms of trying to find things.

Why could you not keep the same design and just upgrade the features.

As the old saying goes don't fix what is not broken..........

Hate the new design and to say it is meant to be user friendly is a joke.

  12. why would you do this with no warning or training in the middle of the workday? no doubt a dumb idea by a gen z intern who doesnt depend on this for any ACTUAL work, because what individual with any common sense would have done this to thousands of workers? I'll bet this BS dropped the NASDAQ a point or two. #ADOBEIDIOTS

  13. The quick action floating toolbar cannot be moved or docked, which means it is constantly hovering over the document, covering the upper left corner of the document. There should be an option to move or dock this toolbar so that users can view their documents unobstructed.

  14. Delete a layer option is missing in a layers pannel. Would be very usefull feature for preparing PDFs for print with correct layer content. Possible workarounds (delete layer content + merge) are too complicated and not safe for prepress.

  15. Acrobat is pushing their users to BlueBeam. the new interface added NO user benefit, but made commonly used features harder to access, and switched toolbar sides for no benefit, and obnoxiously forces the floating toolbar to cover your document while leaving the top bars empty. If Acrobat ever removes the "Disable new Acrobat" I will be switching to BlueBeam.

  16. Your new "internet/mobile friendly" interface being forced on desktop users is bad customer service. It makes me seriously consider using/purchasing a competitor's product and never coming back to Adobe.

  17. The "Remember Current State of Tools Pane" option under Preferences...Documents never actually remembers anything. I close the annoyingly huge tools pane every single time I open a PDF, and every single time it comes back again.
You forced me to "upgrade" to this version of Acrobat Reader, and it drives me insane. There was a reason I installed the old reader with the simple interface that worked.
win10 home 22H2, reader version 2023.001.20174, but I'm pretty sure this has been a problem for as many versions as I can remember.

  19. If it ain't broke why "fix" it? The latest Adobe Acrobat is horrendous re: changes to the interface and functionality. Basic things like zoom function, where to access tools, or go to the next page have changed - why?! You're making people who have used Acrobat for years CHANGE the way they work, breaking workflow. It's slow to load and do most actions and hard to find things. I HATE it when Adobe moves things around like this. Please stop making arbitrary changes that break workflow for regular users.
