  1. Save as Other>Reduced Size PDF in DC - Adobe's prior versions of Acrobat reduced the file size much much more. DC Reduced Sized files are still too huge! It's not true they can't be reduced more in size because outside apps are able to do this without any difference in readability for basic use.

I would request you to use the “Optimize Scanned Pages” feature of Optimize PDF application. Please follow the below steps :

    1. Open your PDF file and go to Optimize PDF application.
    2. Choose the “Optimize Scanned Pages” option. Press “OK” on the next dialog with default settings.

    Regards,
    Sandeep Grover

  2. I'm using Adobe Acrobat CC 2018 on an iMac using macOS High Sierra version 10.13.2. When I edit or create a pdf file, the save or save as commands bring up a BLANK field instead of the traditional save or save as field. I can't save any files. The only way to get the edited file or binder is to email it to myself. Is this something I can fix or is it a bug on CC 2018?

    Hi,

You can always check the recent files you opened, but as designed after system restart Acrobat will not open those files for you by itself.

    Thanks

  4. Allow users to customize the toolbar- add some (not all) drawing markup tools, comment tools, editing tools, highlight tools, without having to add an entire group. There are tools in a group that I never use, but I must select a group and wait for it to load, rather than seeing all my frequent tools at one time.

  5. Changes are not able to be saved when source or destination folder name of document is changed while editing. Changing folder names is common on Mac OSX and applications typically do not have issues tracking folder name changes while the application and document is open.

    1. To reproduce on OSX, open a PDF document and make edits. Change the name of the folder the PDF resides in. Attempt to save changes. Acrobat shows this error "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name…

The error is expected since you are changing the source folder name while the file-inside is in Write-mode.

You can try Save As to not lose any changes.

Just for information, on windows – you cannot change the source folder name while a file, is in write-mode.

  6. Cannot uncheck "whole word" from Find box. It's there but grayed out. There is no way to uncheck by default. Have to open the cumbersom full search panel, but it still won't change the default.

  7. Why is Adobe Acrobat so stupidly, ridiculously large? It takes 6 GB on my Windows 7 PC dwarfing massively complex heavyweight apps like After Effects (2GB) Maya (400MB) and Cinema 4D (400MB). It looks like very sloppy programming.

  9. When taking a form and editing it or whatever you want and then you go to email it I shouldnt be forced to save the form before emailing it. Me personally I dont need a copy of the form, I just want to email it like you used to be able to do on the old version before the update.

  10. The Action Wizards that are custom setup can no longer save to a pre-specified folder.

Previously action would save to a designated folder when "Save to Local Folder" was the option.

It no longer saves at all even though the operation is checked.

What should happen is it should be saved in the folder specified as previously.

I'm running MacOS 10.14 and using Acrobat 20080 on a MacBook Pro.

For saving the file to a particular folder you can click on File menu > save as.
The popup opens up now select ‘choose a different folder..’
Now you can save your file to your desired location.

  12. Zoom previous is a shorthand reference for go back to the previous view. It is an existing feature in numerous graphically intense systems like CAD, MCAD, ECAD.

It is a convenient and efficient way to restore the view. Reasons to use it are: 1. correct a zoom error or 2. zoom in to examine something closely and zoom back out to an overview

You may be getting this error because the same pdf file is currently open in some other program e.g. it may be open in browser or some email Clint

Requesting you to close other application and again try this scenario.
Please get back to us if you again face the same issues.

Can you please update your Os vesion and use the latest DC version and check with that.

  15. I am unable to browse the URL that was generated with Microsoft Word 2007, there is no option to browse to the URL in question for some reason or to make better use of HTML tags.

I can browse to https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6393913409312112068#allposts/src=sidebar, using Google Chrome but when I click through the file I cannot browse through to the blog included within the PDF that was exported as a PDF for it to be read only, hopefully.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
You can still achieve your outcome via the thumbnail panel, just right click on thumbnail panel and select ‘Enlarge page thumbnails’.
Enlarge the thumbnails to your desired size & then proceed with your rearrangement.
    Hope this helps!

  17. In acrobat X you could set the program to always open PDFs with thumbnails open and page view next to it.

Tech support told me the added the "feature" of removing that setting. and replacing it with file-by-file interface settings. That's a loss of functionality.

I get many PDFs from outside sources and I have to integrate pages from them into other documents, for which I need two acrobat windows open with thumbnails showing so I can drag-and-drop pages.
Thus every single one of those new files I have to manually re-open the thumbnails, because my Acrobat has never see…

Sorry fot the inconvenience caused to you.

You can still achieve your desired outcome by following below mentioned steps.
    1) Open a pdf file.
2)Open another file and drag the tab out such that you have two pdfs in two different windows side by side.
    3) From the thumbnail view for both windows.
    4) Now you can drag your desired page from one file to another and integrate pages.

  20. I don't want to save the document in Word, I just want to save the PDF in "my documents" on my computer. Is there no way to do this? Or if there is what is the magic spell I have to put on Adobe to do that. Cannot access the Adobe Cloud- whatever that is- to attach documents.
