  1. Greetings, dear colleagues!

I want to use Advanced Search of the Acrobat XI in order to perform the following search query:
    cat AND "barking dog"

However by trials and errors I found that this syntax does not work in Boolean query mode of the Advanced Search.

It would be great to have such simple, but extremely useful search option

    Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. Acrobat XI is now out of active development, but we are making a note of your feature request.
    Thanks again for reporting

    1. Since the indexing will index the all multiple pdfs. Type ahead search should be supported. Instead currently the user has to type and enter search for the search results.
    2. Since the indexing will index the all multiple pdfs. Type ahead search with number of hits found should be shown before hitting the search
    3. Searching should be as fast as google. 10,000 pdf files of 100kb each and type ahead search should be less than a second

  2. I want Adobe Acrobat Pro 17 to work at least half as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro XI that did the jobs I needed wonderfully well for me. I NEED TO CLOSE THE RIGHT PANEL JUST LIKE I COULD IN XI!!!!!!!!!!! i SEE OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT TOO. If something wasn't broke in older version why "fix it" with this one. It interferes with my ability to follow through on searched text and read same with the split screen capability Windows offers! PLEASE FIX IT SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for your consideration.

  4. I have filled up a PDF form using Foxit PhantomPDF. I modified the form using Adobe Acrobat DC and when I tried to save the form, I got error "The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (109)" and I was not able to save the modified form.

  5. I have been trying to add an index for a 278 page book in PDF. I spent an hour on the phone to tech support in India and no one there seems to know how to do this.

I also need to be able to VIEW it and install it into this PDF to publish it. PLEASE add a tutorial on how this is done, step by step, without CLOUDING the issue with terms like "catalog" and "metatdata" that do NOT contribute to the objective.

  7. Whenever I use acrobat, my mouse seems driven by commads - not mine - to do things in acraobat. Things like scrolling, moving mouse, opening other windows in acrobat. Is it a ghost or is it Adobe?

    Hi,

I am afraid, Acrobat can not be responsible for this abrupt behavior. Please
do a virus scan on your machine. Let us know if that helps.

    Thanks

  8. In previous versions of Adobe Acrobat / reader you could use a 3d mouse (3dconnexion) to zoom and navigate a document. This is very helpful on larger drawing type documents where you want to move around and zoom in. I noticed that the 3d mouse does work to scroll up and down a text type document. Are there any plans to integrate zoom and pan features?

Choose View > Zoom > Pan & Zoom, or click the Pan & Zoom tool in the Select and Zoom toolbar.

    Do any of the following:
1.Drag the handles of the box in the Pan & Zoom window to change the document magnification.

2.Drag the center of the box to pan across the area you want to see.

3.Click the navigation buttons to move to a different page.

4.Enter a value in the zoom text box, or click the plus or minus buttons to increase or decrease the magnification by preset levels.

  9. I need to be able to create a document where the images we include can not be screenshot and the searched for in google image search (thus enabling the person I am sending the PDF to to go to competitor websites who have the same images as us). So either no screenshot allowed or the ability to change the images we have sufficiently that google image will not find it.

  10. Summary of the Problems: Search result snippets in an Advanced Search are often uninformative due to two distinct problems.

Problem 1. The length of text snippet in each search result is too short.
Problem 2. The search term occurs too "early" in the result snippet (that is, the term you searched for is the first or second word in the snippet--you see nothing that came before your term, which is often what you needed to know).

Solution to Problem 1: allow the user the ability to customize the maximum size of snippets returned with search results. We have huge monitors…

  11. Problem: When doing an Advanced Search, in order to find out the page number of any given search result, you must hover the pointer over each individual search hit and wait for a popup of its page number to appear.

Feature request: Show the page numbers on which those hits occur, and preferably in a column to the left of each search hit.

Reason it's needed: This would save a tremendous amount of time for certain labor intensive tasks, for instance, manually indexing a book. To elaborate a bit: When manually indexing a large book (say, 500 pages), you regularly…

    1. Combine files into a Binder always FORCES the default to be filename sequence.
The User should NOT be forced to move HUNDREDS of files in a large document
just to get them in the proper sequence.

Yes, there is the "Move Up/Down" option which works on each file ONE AT A TIME.
However, has anyone on the Acrobat team actually tried to do that to resequence
over 1,000 pages into an absolutely different non-alpha result??? THINK DAYS !!!!

  15. I have received a redacted contract on Adobe Acrobat Standard DC that I use on Windows 7. When I hold down ctrl and scroll in (to zoom) the redacted information flashes and I can see what information is blacked out. I think the information should be securely blacked out so there is no possibility of obtaining that information.

  16. Wow. I LOVE your products, but HOLY S&*T was it difficult to get to a point where I could actually "Contact" adobe. As a professional UX designer (sorry for how that must sound...) this UX is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable for a company of your prestige.

Here is my issue, I used to be able to drag .png files into Adobe Acrobat and the software would brilliantly ask me if I wanted to combine these pngs into a single file, "Why yes, Thats exactly what I want! Thank you."

This worked flawlessly for the last year. Now, out of nowhere, the program…
