  2. When using auto-tag, often graphic elements are forced to back or deleted. See attached examples, where the text next to the HHS-CDC logo is messed up after auto-tag.

  3. Adobe, PLEASE update Acrobat Pro DC's accessibility standard from WCAG 2.0 to WCAG 2.1. It came out a year ago, June 2018, but Acrobat DC does not yet support it.

Government agencies now require 2.1 to comply with accessibility legislation: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/accessibility-requirements-for-public-sector-websites-and-apps

Our accessible PDFs are mostly for government agencies. If Acrobat does not update soon we can no longer use it and will have to find an alternative. Can anyone suggest any good apps that validate to WCAG 2.1?

  4. I use Word 365 of a main docment to generate a PDF, and remediate in Acrobat DC. I have to add in pages in the fron an back of the document that comprises the front and back covers (also from Word). (The cover PDFs also pass accessibility check).

However, when I drag one page into the Main document PDF and run the accessiblity checker, all the hyperlinks that tested OK in the main document now generate a 'tagged annotations' error.

Normally, remediating such errors is easy: you show in the content panel, find the unmarked links/annotations and tag them appropriately.

  5. When Autotag is run in Acrobat Pro, it puts hyperlinks on all numbers, such as numerical data in tables, page numbers, and random numbers within the body text.

    Hi,
Your concern has been shared with higher management. We do not have any plans to fix this now but we have kept it in our bucket and will address this in a future release.

    Thanks
    Rachit

  6. The Read Aloud Speed can be set i note settings. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to do anything. Support threads on this topic haven't been addressed by Adobe in years. Could we get this feature working?

  7. It would be nice to be able to search the preferences. ALL the Adobe products have over 20 organized "tabs" to find the settings you are looking for, but it still makes it too hard to find the settings you are looking for. You need to update this to be more like current software with a way to search for the settings, like Google Chrome or Vivaldi browsers.

  8. acrobat should have themes for viewing a pdf like all the other pdf readers. I have Xodo for windows 10 and reading a pdf on it is much preferred then acrobat. I can select dark mode and it turns the background of the pages to dark and I can read at night without eye strain.

    Hi,
You should change the setting and reopen the document. I tried the same on few files and this is working fine.
Moreover, we have taken you request for this and kept it in our radar. We’ll implement it in our future releases.

    Thanks
    Rachit

  9. Accessibility Checker fails:
Check boxes (Tagged form fields - Failed)
Radio buttons (Tagged annotations - Failed)
InDesign copy changes, Acrobat Reading order missing tags.

Using MacOS High Sierra V 10.13.6.
Previous files, InDesign 2018 Export Adobe PDF Interactive Passed the checker. Same file open in newer version InDesign 2019 Export Adobe PDF Interactive fails.

Not sure if the problem is with Acrobat or Indesign. This is happening with all my files. If I take a new Indesign file with no interactive functions and create them in InDesign 2019 everything passes.

    There is a bug somewhere!

  10. when pressing the center button on the mouse currently it allows 4 way scrolling option. It would be better for my use if it could be mapped to the hand tool instead of always having to switch back to the hand tool(for left click)

  12. Need a keyboard shortcut when working in the Tags Panel to Find Tag From Selection.

This utility is used a bazillion times a day by those who must make accessible PDFs.

  14. When in accesibility/high contrast mode, white horizontal lines will appear over the black background at random segments of the document as you scroll up/down. Deactivating 2D graphics accelerator solved the issue for me. I have a GTX 1080 Max-Q.

  16. I am using Keyboard only to access the Tags Panel.

Switching between the Advanced Search menu, and the main document Window, using F6 to move Focus to the Tags panel and Find Tag from Selection work great. I perform subsequent actions and my first search/action is done.

Then I Alt tab back to the Advanced Search panel, move up to the next item, Alt tab back to the main document Window, F6 to the Tags Panel, the item I searched for is selected, but the previous Tag (from search # 1) still has dotted lines around it and it has…

  18. We have had issues with alt text being duplicated into the actual text field when using the right click to access alt text or using the order panel to access alt text. The only way it is not duplicated is if alt text is entered via the tags panel properties method.

  19. When remediating a document created from Word, we had a group of tables (actually embedded Excel sheets) that auto-tagged as Figures. When the cells in these Figures were manually tagged using the Reading Order Tool they inherited the Bounding Box and Placement attributes of the Figure tag they were within. If the Figure tag was deleted and then the content was tagged this problem did not occur, but who knew this would happen? This caused unexpected issues using several remediation Tools -- Commonlook Validator would not open the file and Axes PDF Quick Fix showed a large bounding box around…

  20. I cannot get the Page Up/Down keys to work. I'm viewing a multi-page PDF in full page to flip through them and spot changes. I can't see an option to reset tools or select this as a transition option.
Also, in all other Adobe products, you can hit Command+` to jump between open documents, but not in Acrobat.
