Acrobat DC layout is really bad - Need to see custom tool bars without taking up too much space. Need better access to plug-in tools.

DESPISE is not strong enough to explain how I feel about new format... change for the sake of change is not a good thing. Visual space hog, unwieldy, and completely user-UNfriendly. Egad - it's terrible. Lousy. Wish I could return to prior version - but as a government user, not an option apparently. Interface now feels so unprofessional and just wastes my time. might as well get out crayons and paste to get anything done... UGH!

I just had this installed on new machine. Interface/toolbar, etc., is horrible. I agree with everyone's comments. I seriously thought that it was showing a "beginner's" toolbar or I had accidentally magnified the screen. Please return interface and toolbars to previous versions.

What was the rational for changing to this new "kiddie" format?

I agree that the big icons are clunky and great for novices. Not great for advanced users who need to work quickly and do multiple things to one file: drawing markup, comment, edit, set initial view, reduce file size, remove/add/reorganize pages.

Going back and forth is waste of time. I now know how to customize my menu bar, but I have to do it at home, on my laptop, and on my work computer and rarely recall exactly what I did on one, so they each end up having a different work space.

The huge icons are a space hog. I use a very small laptop, government issue, and it is awful trying to use the icon bar at the top. I spend a lot of time marking up documents with rectangles, clouds etc., and every time I do one, I have to go up to the menu bar and pull down to get to the shape option again. Very laborious. What a joke. It was just fine when it was on the right above the comments. Microsoft and Autodesk are famous for ruining programs over and over again and now Adobe is doing it. Just when I adapt to the new poorer version, they upgrade it to another version I have to relearn. At least AutoCAD has an option where you can choose if you want to use AutoCAD Classic View. Maybe this would be an option for Adobe. But it would make their programs larger. The software designers need to realize that all of this excess mouse travel is killing our hands, literally. With every extra motion of our hand we get more damage to ligaments, etc. It might not seem like a big deal when you are young, but it is going to have major effects on everyone during their lifetime. How many people to you know that have had carpel tunnel surgery???

I agree. Please go back to the old user interfaces/controls (with updated functionality). I despise having to switch to a different tool menu entirely in order to be able to access different tools. All tools need to be accessible on one drop down menu or tool bar. Need to be able to click/toggle back and forth between tools without having to close the existing tool bar. And yes... these child-sized icons are taking up way too much screen space.

Couldn't agree more with all of these comments. I loathe the new cartoon icon format. It appears to be a 'dumbed down' children's version for new users. Makes me feel like I should break out a box of crayons to start coloring. Worse, I can't find anything I need (like the Crop Tool) so have to resort to searching every time. I don't have time to relearn a software program that I've been using for at least 15 years. I'll be dumping this updated version and going back to Acro X. At least I know my way around there and can be productive.

If you do not wish to see the recent file list on your home screen you can always use the "Clear recent files" button at the bottom to clear the list.

I want to comment on this issue also. The Recent list would be more useful if:
1. It automatically dropped a listing when a file is deleted.
2. Updated/followed a moved file.
3. Updated or erased listing (user preference) when Acrobat is shut down or restarted.
4. Allowed a sort by selection on the name, size, or date viewed.
5. Updated when switching between list view and thumbnail view.

Please change the start up screen on Acrobat Pro dc. It stresses me out seeing all those file that I don't need.

Agreed, I would like the ability to make the Tool Bar icons smaller

Please remove the startup/recent files page. It blocks my desktop and is an unnecessary click to have to close it every time I open a PDF.

May I ask why you mad any changes to Adobe Acrobat which was a good product! The Tool Bar is as I have said before Too Cumbersome to use!!! If you do not return your product to the user-friendly, efficient product I used all day long I will have to change my entire work system but to What...a bazillion Apps each doing less than a quarter of the options ...Also what happened to the green underlining option. I always used this in conjunction with highlighting. Plus, when I subscribed to Creative Cloud, I expected to have the option to underline and highlight in multiple colors. I was sure my older non-subscription product was not as advanced as a subscription product. Instead I feel as though I am back in the stone age.

I use Adobe Acrobat DC to create and edit PDFs throughout my work-day. I always try to size the window so that my Quick Tools will show. However, now that the Feedback and Learn Adobe icons are showing in the toolbar, I'd have to make the window larger than needed just to see my Quick Tools. I've searched but have not found any way to remove those two icons from the toolbar. Those options should be in the Help menu, not taking up space in the toolbar (same goes for Home & Tools).

Having finally made it possible to permanently hide the Page Controls, you still waste valuable toolbar space with the Help and Feedback icons.

Please will you remove the FEEDBACK and the HELP icons and put them out of the way somewhere - you don't seem to have understood that we who use the product in Pre-Press need AS MUCH SPACE FOR TOOLS AS POSSIBLE

I would like to let you know that you can always Drag and drop your Favorite Apps from the Right hand Panel to the Top toolbar to quickly access those apps.
Also you can add the Tools(such as commenting tools) to the top toolbar by drag drop from the comment app to the top toolbar.

Anyways, you can always use "Customize quick tools" menu from the toolbar context menu toolbar to add/delete tools from your Top toolbar.

Should be able to drag and drop tools you use often to the customized tool bar at the top of the document. Why does it have to be so hard to do that?

Everything is hidden

when opening Acrobat the list of recent files default is distracting and unuseful. Acrobat should open to a blank page as it had done in all previous versions.
