No way to password protect a PDF from editing BUT allow annotations on mobile devices (Samsung tablet, Ipad etc.)
I need to be able to protect PDFs on my Mac from editing BUT allow annotations. We have tried taking the following steps...
We saved a Word doc as pdf on Mac, uploaded it to Adobe Pro, in 'allow changes' chose commenting, filling in form fields, and signing existing signature fields.
We then sent the protected pdf to various devices.
Recipients were prompted to enter a password in order to annotate on Samsung Tablet and Ipad.
Surely, allowing annotation while protecting the pdf from editing is much in demand these days, in particular in the education field where students are…

Prevent Comment Pane from Opening when selecting the Comment Tool
Please provide an option to prevent the Comment Pane from opening whenever you select the Comment Tool. I make comments all the time on PDF's and never required the pane to be open.

Acrobat 2020 stops responding when saving
When saving a pdf, acrobat stops responding and must be force quit. This usually does not happen with "save as", only with save. I am running Mac OS Big Sur, version 11.4. Acrobat Pro 2020 (obtained through my university) is version 2020.001.30020. A text file of the crash report is attached

Inserting a PNG into acrobat will resize the image
I want to have an image set at 5.5in by 4.25. I have created that with photoshop. When I move that image that is in my desired size, it will resize into something that I don't want in acrobat. Images going into acrobat shouldn't resize.
Or let me resize the canvas in Acrobat.

need to disable comments (tool) pane on right side of screen Acrobat pro 2020 for Mac
the comments(tools) pane pops up constantly while marking up PDF's. This may be a great feature for big teams, however it is a time consuming extra step that is unnecessary (and extremely irritating) for solo users. There is a work around to turn it off for DC but apparently none for acrobat pro 2020 on a Mac, as Adobe tech support took over my screen and couldn't change the setting. Adobe please make a fix for this. Thank you.

Replacing XMP metadata is NOT absorbed into the PDF document.
Unsuccessfully tried to change/modify the advanced metadata 'PRODUCER' of a PDF from Acrobat Pro DC. I would not accept the revised xmp file as a replacement.

Number the comments in a PDF document
It would be a good idea if each comment in a PDF doc would be numbered. I sometimes have to reply comments and it would be helfpful if I could know how many comments remain to reply and/or edit.

Acrobat Pro DC – Text Watermark Font Bug
Mac OS X 10.13.6
Acrobat Pro DC – Version 2021.001.20138Inserting a text watermark using the Helvetica Neue font enters a series of boxes instead of the text. All weights and slopes affected except, bizarrely, the ‘Thin’ weight.
Inserting text using the Helvetica Font produces the error message “The font ‘Helvetica,Xxxx’ contains an invalid encoding. Some characters may not display correctly”. This error message appears on saving the PDF and every time it is opened in Acrobat Reader DC.
Both fonts are system fonts and work satisfactorily in all applications (e.g. InDesign, Word) including Acrobat Pro DC, but not as…

Quick Tools overflow menu
Some tools are not usable when accessed from the overflow ("meatballs") menu of the Quick Tools toolbar. Tools such as Change color, Change line thickness, and Text Properties are not usable if they are in the overflow menu (because the window size is too small to fit all the Quick Tools).

Tab Color
Set tabs to colors when working with more than one file helps to differentiate and sort. EXCEL allows tabs to be colored. Similar to that. Thank you.

BUG: Redact tool custom patterns does not respect case sensitivity
When using a custom redaction regular expression, the Redact tool doesn't correctly respect case sensitivity. The following pattern:
(\b)([A-Z])([A-Za-z]+)(\b)
...should be tagging words that begin with a capital letter, but it instead marks all words in the entire document. Please allow the redaction tool to correctly tag words based on the specified capitalization in the RegEx patterns.

Error restoring autosave after crash
When autosave is turned on Acrobat periodically writes .tmp files to the autosave location containing annotations since the last time the file was saved. If Acrobat is forced to quit without saving the open file, upon restart it detects the presence of the .tmp file and offers to restore the changes. At that point that .tmp file is still in the autosave folder.
Immediately after the user accepts that offer, Acrobat deletes the .tmp file and returns an error saying the file cannot be found or read and as a result all changes have been lost.
This problem has existed…

Remove watermarks and headers\footers created by other apps
Hello , Team ADOBE , The acrobat pro dc should have a feature which can remove watermarks and headers\footers created by other pdf editor , i know its hard but we should have an option to select an object as watermark and remove it from all the pages , we need to manually remove such watermarks from all the pages , if we can set that kind of algorithm than we can choose which thing to remove from all the pages , it would be good , i have tried the adobe preflight too ,but does not work , so…

Adobe Document Cloud Shapes
1) Drawing shapes
2) For some reason, you can add shapes using Adobe comment tool on Acrobat DC, but you can not do it in an Adobe Document Cloud file.
3) This Feature is needed so that AE firms can collaborate and redline drawings more efficiently.

Bug report: Acrobat Pro DC on Mac mangles format when text color is changed
When attempting to change the color of some text in Acrobat Pro DC, the text format is sometimes badly messed up. This happens with text from Acrobat's OCR as well as text imported from other applications. I'm attaching a file that shows both of these cases. To reproduce the problem, open the file in Acrobat Pro DC (on Mac), select Edit PDF, select all of the text on the page, and change the color of the text to black - the text format will get badly mangled when the color is changed. Very frustrating! Changing the color should just change…
