  1. Maybe i am paranoid but I have a case against the Norwegian government. I would like to use my HP printer color laserjet MFP M477fdw against Acrobat that i am renting. That is not working thru an usb-cable.. Probably other instances too that usb is better.... When I try I get you have not internwt. It is files I do not want out on the internet but at the same time it would be better for med to make it digital than having the case on paper.

  3. A button to straighten a scanned document would be so useful, particularly for anyone using a document feeder to scan. Currently, if you go to edit the document, it will straighten the pages for you, but it will sometimes convert handwritten notes into a font and change their appearance, which isn't ideal for signatures, for example. So, a separate option to straighten the document would be life changing for me at work.

  4. This is challenging, but I'm sure you could manage:
Many texts that I need to OCR have been scanned from books, so the text is curved. Right now, Acrobat only recognises text in straight lines, so it jumps lines when highlighting and copying text.Would be great if Acrobat Pro could judge, e.g. by analyzing the borders of text boxes, that lines of text are not perfectly straight.

  5. How long do I have to wait for Acrobat to recognize Thai text from scanned images/documents

I am trying to recognize Thai text from the enhance document tool but Thai is not listed in the languages available. While I can't use this fucntion I also have to pay the same price as the others who can benefit from this feature.

  6. I sometimes receive files that have printed text that appears correctly but for which the underlying OCRing (or text derived from Word or another word processor) has become corrupt or is otherwise garbled and bears no relation to the visible printed text. An example is attached. It would be very helpful if there were a feature that allowed you to remove all existing OCRed text (or the underlying hidden text produced from the word processor) and run Acrobat's OCRing again from scratch.

It's possible to print an image only PDF and then OCR this, but that is cumbersome, loses quality…

  8. After running OCR and then running correct, it sometimes doesn't recognize the entire word or a whole character and there's no way to override the incomplete recognition to ensure the entire word is corrected or to correct the partial recognition. If the user could override that recognition and select the full word or character, then correct it to be accurate. Then it would be fabulous if the program would automatically rerun to find similar configurations and offer to correct them throughout the entire file and show the results similar to an advanced search, to complete a quick survey and have…

  9. Once a word is corrected, Adobe should automatically apply that correction throughout the entire file. Otherwise, you end up having to correct the same word on every page.

  10. After updating to version 19.012.20036 we have an issue with scanning. Example: We scan pages using our scanners document feeder. Then we select "Enhance Scans", "Insert Pages", "From Scanner" and feed more pages. Then when we try to load the feeder and scan additional pages, it won't let you select "Scan" again. If you click "Close" and then "Close" again in the upper right corner, it will let you scan more pages 1 time and then it won't let you do it again. Before, we could keep adding additional pages to the document feeder and keep scanning.

  11. When OCRing a document and you move to another program to allow the OCR to continue, the cursor is still the watch. This makes working in other programs difficult. The watch should only take over the cursor when you are actually in Adobe.

  14. There is a major problem with OCR in Acrobat Pro CD. I have recognized (OCR) text in many documents. They still contain a lot of recognition errors in the hidden text used for search. When I try to use the function/tool "Correct Recognized text" (translated from Norwegian), I get a message saying that there are no suspected errors. It is not possible to correct the remaining errors. This is just stupid, there is no 100% correct OCR program, there are lots of errors in the recognized text. There must be a way to fix the remaining errors, but your technical…

  16. This is an OCR and Export issue. Because DC's OCR is not as good as it was in Pro, I get tons of errors that I correct. The correction is great unless the OCR grabs half a letter. However, if I export the OCR's pdf to Word, DC OCR's the pdf again and does not retain the corrections and will export with the same errors. That is crazy.

  18. Gesucht ist folgendes: ein Prozess soll einfach einen Ordner alleine überwachen und dann, wenn ein Scanner dort eine Datei ablegt, die OCR-Funktion alleine starten und das Ergebnis in einen anderen Ordner speichern.

  19. Hello,

I have noticed that some of the other OCR software performs better than Adobe Acrobat DC OCR function... i.e. Power PDF. I wonder if you can improve it's functionality as far as recognizing the characters is concerned?...

    Regards,
    Jeff Paarsa

  20. We have to use Editable Text and Image for our national database to add our header on the top of pdf documents filed in our database.
Regardless of scanner used, OCR is not is not seeing the underlines as a solid line. It looks like a bunch of underscores. This results in the numbers above it to become distorted. Sometimes the amounts are not readable.
here are times the line comes through looking like this: _----------__
Are settings are 300 dpi, black and white document, OCR on / Editable Text and Images, front side. We have changed the…
