  1. UX design used to be to provide the best possible functional interface to allow the end user to be as productive as possible. The latest Adobe Acrobat interface flys in the face of these standards. It has moved menus, hidden functionality behind icons and in the name of looking cool or nice has ruined my productivity.

I never comment in these forums, but what you have done with the latest interface is so dysfunctional that if you worked for me I would fire the lot of you.

  2. Even if a single document is open in New Acrobat Pro the file name is displayed as trimmed. This is totally unacceptable in workflows where file names carry important information and must be inspected together with visual PDF information. This simple interface change makes Acrobat useless in prepress work, please fix this or provide a solution in settings.

  3. on the adobe acrobat online documents page, files have their modified dates displayed but only in the American Format (e.g. 2/3/2023). This is confusing for users outside U.S.

can it be updated to at least Follow international standard as the baseline or give options for display type

  4. Well, sonny, back in the old days in 2022, Acrobat had this interface where you could insert a page from a scanner in two mouse clicks. That was before the new fangled 2023 version that requires making an all new document and importing it.

It used to be you'd just go to File > Insert Pages > From Scanner and, pow, zap, whoop, there'd be the pages you'd want to add.

Now that they got this new-fangled interface and first you have to find the "File" menu item. That's hidden up under the three bars. Everyone else in the world…

  5. Acrobat DC 64-bit, version 2022.001.20169.
    Windows 11 Pro, 10.0.22000 Build 22000 (Updated on 2022-07-25)

Bug: The "Make Hand tool select text & images" option doesn't work on Acrobat DC 64-bit. In Hand tool mode, it can't select text and images.

    Steps to reproduce the bug:
    1) Turn on the option "Make Hand tool select text & images".
    2) Change to Hand tool and try to select text in any simple PDF file.

    Expected result: Can select text

Observed result: Can't select text as in Acrobat DC 32-bit.

  6. File Property name "Reading Options" is translated as 「読み上げオプション」 in Japanese, and this is quite misunderstanding as 「読み上げ」 means "verbal reading", while the file properties specify the reading (book-binding) directions and written languages. This shold be fixed as 「読み方オプション」, which denotes neutral "reading options".

  7. Preference → Full Screen → Full Screen Transitions → "Nvaigation Controls Direction" check button is not working on Acrobat Pro (2022), while it works on Acrobat Reader DC. If it is a persistent bug, I hope it would be fixed and make it works as exactly same as Acrobat Reader.

  8. For example, if you add a comment to a PDF and close Acrobat 2020 Pro, the warning about not saving your work will not appear. This warning was normally displayed on the older version of Pro XI, so it appears in the latest version of DC (both Reader and Pro).

    The app version is 2020.005.30381

  10. The pen feature doesn't work well. It autocorrects and makes the handwriting look bad. The erase also works poorly.

  11. I just opened Acrobat, and it gave me another "look what's new" popup. Every time it does this it freezes for a good minute. I have three new computers, the one I am using is a i7 12th gen 1280, with 32 mb of ram. So, not a slow computer by any means, and yet this mild distraction is very frustrating, especially for power users, who are the ones who are going to recommend your products. Instead of listening to us, it appears Adobe is running further down this rabbit hole. It should be mentioned that other companies who are…

  12. Requesting Acrobat DC x64 be updated to enable PDFMaker functionality across applications for a user ONLY if the full functionality of Acrobat Pro is activated by sign in and license validation; and disabled, hidden or greyed out when the user signs out of Acrobat and is in 'Reader' mode.

When using the Adobe Acrobat DC x64 Unified Installer the PDFMaker add-ins for Office products (Word, Outlook, etc) are automatically enabled, however, users that are in 'Reader' mode cannot use these features (Save as Adobe PDF, context menus to convert or append Outlook mailboxes to PDF, etc) and receive an error…

  16. I installed the new Acrobat Pro. The interface was brand new. It looked nice but nothing was working. Under file I had the option to revert back to the older style. All the bugs persisted. I did a repair and now everything seems to work. But I would like to go back to the new interface but I don't see an option for it??

  17. The option to download a PDF to my desktop is buried and frustrating to find.
When logged online in to my account and looking at my documents tab, each file has three little dots to the far right. These dots have many of the document options I would expect, except there is download feature. To access this feature, I need to open the document and then select the three little dots located near the top of the screen to the right.

I could not find this and had to look online using your help feature. I found others having the…

  18. I work with multiple files on a single topic, and multiple topics at the same time. It would be very handy to be able to name each Adobe Acrobat window (by a topic name), and keep each windows' files separate, and able to be conveniently accessed as a group. If this feature already exists, I'd love to use it, but can't seem to find it (yet).

  19. Former versions of Acrobat, prior to Acrobat DC, had the capability of showing tools on two rows at the top of the document pane.

The lack of colorization of icons in DC, the basic shapes and the inability to show nearly all tools in the toolbar makes it very difficult and time consuming to edit and markup documents. I most often use the full array of tools and find it time consuming to search for tools that don't "fit" on the single row toolbar.

Please consider a options for users to add a second row or more to the tool…

  20. It should be clear with the countless posts of users wanting the default to be the Hand Tool and others wanting the default to be the Selection Tool.

In both cases, there has been countless work arounds and fixes to make it work one way or another. Since this latest update none of the fixes appear to be working now and it seems everyone is forced into having Selection as the default.

Simple feature request - have a Preference setting to select your default tool - Hand/Pan or Arrow/Select.
