Recovery of all Open PDF documents after a crash or shutdown on the computer
Every time Windows crashes all the Adobe files that were open get lost. Please tell me how to recover all open files when after restart
2 votesHi,
You can always check the recent files you opened, but as designed after system restart Acrobat will not open those files for you by itself.
Thanks

Every time I open a pdf, it saves to the desktop as a new file. I have numerous file of the same thing on my desktop
Every time I open a pdf from an email, it automatically saves it to the desktop. I then have to delete them and it is difficult finding the latest file...that I didn't want to save in the first place. I want to choose when to save a file.

Error saving when destination folder name is changed
Changes are not able to be saved when source or destination folder name of document is changed while editing. Changing folder names is common on Mac OSX and applications typically do not have issues tracking folder name changes while the application and document is open.
- To reproduce on OSX, open a PDF document and make edits. Change the name of the folder the PDF resides in. Attempt to save changes. Acrobat shows this error "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name…
2 votesThe error is expected since you are changing the source folder name while the file-inside is in Write-mode.
You can try Save As to not lose any changes.
Just for information, on windows – you cannot change the source folder name while a file, is in write-mode.

Reduced Size PDF
Save as Other>Reduced Size PDF in DC - Adobe's prior versions of Acrobat reduced the file size much much more. DC Reduced Sized files are still too huge! It's not true they can't be reduced more in size because outside apps are able to do this without any difference in readability for basic use.
3 votesI would request you to use the “Optimize Scanned Pages” feature of Optimize PDF application. Please follow the below steps :
1. Open your PDF file and go to Optimize PDF application.
2. Choose the “Optimize Scanned Pages” option. Press “OK” on the next dialog with default settings.Regards,

File remains open behind the scene even when tab closed
This is a recurring problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC: When a file is closed in Acrobat (by closing the corresponding tab), the program doesn't not release the file. As a result, the file cannot be renamed or moved until Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is closed. I have attached an image of the error dialog that pops up. This is on Windows.
Of course, this is a major inconvenience because I have many tabs open and closing Adobe merely to be able to rename a file that's no longer supposed to be open in Adobe is not something that enhances…
1 voteThe error here explains that the PDF is opened in Adobe PRO.
This could be because the file is still writing the changes made in the PDF.
Could be that the file is opened from a server location/shared servers. And that the change is waiting to commit.

Need to go back
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is way too cumbersome. The old Acrobat Pro 9 was much more user friendly. Too much time is spent trying to find out how to work with this version.
1 voteDC is now our prime product with all the active development. Change can be a little convenient but i assure you DC will not disappoint you.

Acrobat file save is blank
I'm using Adobe Acrobat CC 2018 on an iMac using macOS High Sierra version 10.13.2. When I edit or create a pdf file, the save or save as commands bring up a BLANK field instead of the traditional save or save as field. I can't save any files. The only way to get the edited file or binder is to email it to myself. Is this something I can fix or is it a bug on CC 2018?
3 votesPreference on MAC is available under “Acrobat Pro DC” menu.
Please give it a try with the latest version of acrobat.

Give an option for the size a PDF opens.
Revise so saved PDF files opens 100% instead of huge views like 137% Maybe there could be a option in settings for this feature.
3 votesYou can try Click “File” and select “Properties.” Click the “Initial View” tab and select “100%” from the Magnification drop-down menu.
You can save/close and re-open the PDF in 100% magnification always.
If you need this to be a global setting for all PDF, you can refer to https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/adjusting-pdf-views.html

Email PDF file on a mac using Microsoft Outlook
Bug - I have up to date Microsoft Outlook for mac (subscription) as well as a subscription for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. The idea of a subscription (which is pretty expensive) is that you get the most recent version of the software.
I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for about two weeks now. My experience has been very negative. The specific issue that annoys me is the ability to email a PDF file. When I attempt to do this one of two things happen:
1) The system just goes into Beach ball spinning mode - have to force…

Why use a persons birthdate for account verification!
Quit asking for a person's birthdate for account verification. This is not necessary and only places the customer at more risk. You do not need this specific information to validate eligibility.

Found Hang in Acrobat Send File function with current version of Outlook
Hi, I found a hang in current release Adobe Acrobat DC (2017.012.20095) when working with Microsoft Outlook on the Mac OS X. I've reproduced on two different Mac models with different versions of the OS. (10.12.6 and 10.12.4) and different versions of Outlook (15.37 and 15.28). This started happening very recently so the problem has to be in a recent update and I think it is because we upgraded Acrobat to the latest on the effected machines.
Steps to reproduce primarily setup related. We heavily use the Share menu so that we can mail PDF files quickly as they are…

Customize individual tool selections in toolbar
Allow users to customize the toolbar- add some (not all) drawing markup tools, comment tools, editing tools, highlight tools, without having to add an entire group. There are tools in a group that I never use, but I must select a group and wait for it to load, rather than seeing all my frequent tools at one time.

Can't select all instances of an Advanced Search (ctrl+shift+F).
When doing an advanced search (ctrl+shift+F), you used to be able to search for a string (which it still does) and select all of those instances in the PDF (no longer highlights every instance; need to do one-by-one). This was a quick & useful feature for highlighting all instances of a certain text string in a PDF drawing.

Preference option to minimize RH Tools pane on file open in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
In a preferences option such that the Tools pane (on right hand sight of document window) will or will not display on PDF file open.
his will save time for what I anticipate is a large percentage of users that open PDF documents to read / comment without necessarily using the tools pane on RH side of the window.
