  1. I would like to be able to create a pdf using only part of a document using the Acrobat add-in for Microsoft Office.

It is important that the section of the document contain all the bookmarks relevant to that sections.

Extracting pages from the full document leads to a pdf with no bookmarks.

The only way I've found so far is to delete the unwanted pages and then to delete the unwant4ed bookamerks.

  2. We use text boxes or callout tool to "balloon" customer prints with several different colors representing the type of feature or dimension. Would like to be able to view the different colors by "groups" or "layers" in any combination. Current use of layers does not work as it imports each separate ballooned print over the other and are only visible by toggling between but not in combination with each other. Have talked to adobe direct and verified there is no support for this type of function at this time. Seems like a simple feature to me, we have used this…

  3. Hi I'm having continual issues with using the Redact and Combine tools. Whenever I use these tools and attempt to save the document, I get the wheel of death and have to force close Adobe. When I go to where I saved the document, I get an error message saying "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

  4. Fail to locate the path of OCRLibraryInf.dll.

Problem exists every time when attempting to export a PDF file to .docx file or text recognition under "Enhance Scans" tab

I have attempted to restart the computer and even reinstall the software/ perform cleaner tool, but the problem remains unsolved.

Environment: Windows 10 Home 64bit version

    Hi,
We need some information to understand and resolve this issue:
    - Acrobat version
    - Scanner details
    - Scan settings
    - Number of pages scan
    - Does it happen for small files also or only for these bulk scanned files.

    Thanks.

  10. Working on a MAC (mac OS High Sierra v 10.13.2 updated 12.14.17) in Acrobat Pro DC v2018.009.20050
I think this problem started right after OS update.
Open a PDF document, extract a page, and now want to save that page.
A Save As PDF window opens but it is empty and you can't do anything. If you try it too many times it will lock up acrobat and you have to force quit. Does the same thing if you want to do a save as to an existing file and rename etc. Screenshot attached.

  12. A PDF which was created via an InDesign export, cannot be reduced in size in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. It hangs Acrobat during the Reduce in Size option.

I have isolated the cause of the problem to the final letter "x" that was added at the end of the text in the Indesign CC file.. I will try to see if I can attach that file. I have attached a ZIP-compressed Adobe InDesign CC 2018 package. I have also attached the PDF file.

This problem is keeping me from reducing in size a very large file.

  13. I have several settings/presets saved in the folder:

    /Users/saschabucher/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings

But only some of them are showing up in the Distiller settings dropdown where you can set the preset. The ones showing up are not even in the alphabetic order. This is maybe related to the issue in InDesign where the script panel is also not anymore ordered.

This is may just cased by OSX High Sierra and SSD.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your valuable feedback.
For Distiller setting dropdown not in alphabetic order we have logged a bug in our database.
And Setting which are not showing in dropdown this is not reproducible at our end. Can you please try reinstalling and updating Acrobat if its not updated to latest version? Let us know if this issue is still there.

    Best Regards!

  14. When converting colors on a multi-page PDF file, after clicking OK, the progress bar that appears starts with showing "Converting Page 0" when it should be "Converting Page 1". Probably just using the pages array index (being zero based).

  15. It would be great to have a pdf inspection mode to easily select items in the pdf and get printing specs on it like the ink type (pms, cmyk) and color used (pms 281, C100M60Y0K6), the font, the resolution of an image as dpi at the current used size, etc.

    Hi,

Thanks for your valuable feedback. We have recorded it in our database.

However,Before printing you can check default value through:
    Go to ‘PrintProduction>outputPreview’
Select ObjectInspector from preview drop down and you can check default value.
Hope this will serve you purpose.
    Please keep updating.

    Best Regards!

  16. In Acrobat Pro DC, I try to reduce the size of a PDF file and Acrobat hangs. I have to Force Quit Acrobat. The PDF was originally an export from InDesign CC.

Thanks lee for reporting. We are also trying to reproduce the issue on our end, meanwhile it would be great if you can attach the indesign CC file.

Hi we are not able to reproduce the problem in house.
Can you elaborate little more here and also please provide the version of Acrobat you are using.

  18. Hello

When generating separate PDF files from a PDF with multiple pages (in my case a 240-page catalog), a number (or folio) is assigned to each page as .... x for units, ..XX for tens, .*** for hundreds, etc.
    Which gives: 1, 10, 100, etc.

Is it possible for Acrobat to name pages rather like this: 000X, 00XX, 0XXX?
    Which would give: 0001, 0010, 0100, etc.

List files for a Windows user do not appear in logical order and the user is forced to rename the PDFs by adding zeros in front of the units and tens (a time-consuming job).

  19. PDF does not finish converting Spot / RGB colors to CMYK/
This is when using preflight fixes or convert color under Print Production Tools.

  20. I do not know what your programmers did to the Adobe products in the 2018 version but all Acrobat and Illustrator keep doing is crashing my computer. I reinstalled 2017 Illustrator but there is not a rollback for Acrobat. Please tell your programmers that "Just because you can does not mean you should"

I am sorry for the inconvenience you are facing, next time you see Acrobat crash, can you please save the crash logs and attach them here, it will help us to narrow down the issue.
