  2. The process for adding alt text is rather onerous, especially for pdfs created from jpegs or other image files. It requires typing in all of the text and doesn't provide for an easy way to separate out sections of a pdf, as in a poster with a varied layout, such as a biographical poster with a photo, titles, subtitles, etc.

  4. Many scanners are not duplex. Thus, users scan odd pages (1, 3, 5, etc.) first then save the file. Next, users turn the stack over to scan even pages (n, n-2, n-4, etc.) then save the file. The problem comes when trying to combine in sequential order. Please create a tool that simply selects odd page file, then reverse even page file, then combines in proper order.

  6. Now when you download a file from the web and have Acrobat installed as the default handler, it automatically downloads the file on Windows to C:\Downloads, not to the actual configured downloads folder, which might be on another drive or in a different location. Acrobat should have a configuration which A) allows you to configure a default location, or B) Asks everytime, defaulting to the last, where to save the file.

    The amount of time spent Saving-As then deleting the originally downloaded file is stupid.l Just let us put the file where we want it from the start.

  7. I am working on a software that generates PDF using ABBYY FineReaderEngine 11 and presents those PDFs to the users in Internet Explorer. The image compression algorithm used is JP2K.

    Some of the PDFs generated are sending the error "Insufficient data for image". The problem can occur on very precise document (as for the example file attached), but also in a random way on other non specific documents. It is really hard to determine if it is created by a certain type of document.

    Our users are using Adobe Acrobat Standard 11.0.20 with Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18665CO (Adobe plugin version :…

  8. When you combine PDFs containing signatures they are saved as a portfolio. When sending the PDF file it is not accessible within the email document itself nor directly from the downloaded tab. All you see is a giant "Get Adobe Reader " icon. It's confusing since I have Adobe Reader...apparently you have to go to your download folder, right click on PDF file and select "open with" Adobe Reader in order to access it. But then you can only view combined files individually and not as a whole. This doesn't work for our use as three or more people need…

  12. Problem: when combining multiple PDF files into one PDF, the result will be a variety of unprintable characters.
    1) EACH individual PDF file appears fine (both on the screen and when printed). There are NO unprintable characters within the PDF.
    2) CAN combine say 5 to 15 PDF files. All Fonts & characters appear fine (within the combined PDF). WILL also print OK. NO unprintable characters.
    3) Now try to combine about 35-60 PDF files into ONE PDF file (NOT good). The COMBINED PDF will display on the SCREEN unprintable characters (€ = square box) on nearly every page!

  13. I need to fix some text inside of a box on a simple scanned PDF, but my cursor will not place itself inside the box to make edits. Why? It used to on this particular PDF. For the past several years all was easy to edit inside of this box, or outlined area. I can edit everything else on the form except what's inside this box area. Help!

  14. Those page number divisions in the comment pane are problematic. It is SO EASY when clicking into that pane to accidentally hide a whole set of comments and not notice. I have zero use for those dividers, and it woul be nice to be able to make them go away and not clutter up the comments pane.

  15. After the latest update to 11.0.20 of Acrobat XI, the user interface has changed and everything is huge. The print screen requires scrolling to find the rest of the settings and buttons. Worked just fine before I updated. Currently using Windows 10 on a Lenovo X1 Carbon. I've tried changing the scaling from 150% to 100% and it didn't do anything other than make everything but Adobe so small I couldn't read them. Extremely annoying and if I can figure out a way to undo the update, I will. See attached screen shots.

  16. Please create the ability to AUTOMATE EMBEDDED indexing in Acrobat.
    Currently embedded indexes are done manually through a laborious 5-step point and click process. We use these extensively and would like a way to create them automatically - similarly to the way the multi-file site indexes can be built with a .bpdx file.

  17. When a link is present that points to a location within the open PDF, or another PDF, right-click should offer the option to Open Link in New Tab. We are all accustomed to doing this in our browsers and it would be a great addition to Acrobat, especially helpful when bouncing back and forth between pages. Thanks.

  20. When creating a text field, under the General tab, where the Form Field is set to "Visible", if under the Format tab you enter the following custom script (for example):

    var message = 'Title'
    if (event.value == '') {
    event.target.display = display.noPrint
    event.value = message
    } else {
    event.target.display = display.visible
    }

    Saving the PDF apparently corrupts the file in some way where when you attempt to re-open it, it causes Acrobat to crash and the pdf is unrecoverable. When the Form Field is set to "Visible but doesn't print" no error occurs.
