1. Tools Pane customization - why does it not work?

   Hi,

   I would like to put the certificates tools permanently to the RHP, but it simply don't work to me. I have read the documentation about the "Tools customization" but that did not help.

   My Adobe Reader version is 2024.002.20687 x64 hungarian.
   Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 23H2 the same behavior :(

   I don't have the "remove shortcut" option shown in the docs (neither have an add shortcut option).

   I tried the registry way to add the tool at the toolbar, but that did not help and after I close the Adobe Reader, my registry entry simply disappears from the "HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AcroApp\cFavorites" key. If I understands correctly, I should put here a REGSZ type entry with the name a2 (I have now a0 and a1 only after disabled the tools behind paywall) with the value of "CertificatesApp". And I have to put under the "HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown\cAcroApp" key a REGDWORD entry with the name "bDisableAcrobatShortcutCustomization" and value of 1.

   It doesn't matter if I set this value to 0 or 1, it does not help. After I open the Adobe Reader, the certificates tool won't show at the RHP, but right after I close the Adobe Reader, it deletes this a2 entry.

   I would like to send this setting through Group Policy to my already installed few hundred clients so the customized installer is not a solution for me.

2. Generative AI prompt blocking features

   When using the search function in Adobe Acrobat, the (extremely annoying) AI "help" prompt blocks text on the document. This should be removed or made smaller. Or, the option to remove generative AI from preferences should be made available for all users.

3. BUG: Acrobat Reader text extraction issue for tagged document

   I observe a strange text extraction behavior in Acrobat Reader for the specific documents. The documents are tagged so generally all paragraph text lines are extracted as a single line. But in some cases the paragpraph text is extracted with line feed. Some experiments shows that it may be related to a presence of a Form XObject inside an artifact content.

4. Bring back quick tools customization in new acrobat reader interface.

   I disabled new acrobat reader for one primary reason. I couldn't customize the quick tools toolbar, so it reduced my productivity. The new interface would be better if customization was brought back.

6. What versions of QuickBooks are supported in Windows 10?

   Is your QuickBooks version supported with Windows 10? In case you have updated or planning to upgrade to windows 10, then the major question that arises is that whether your QuickBooks version is compatible with Windows 10 or not. Windows 10 does not support every version of QuickBooks.

7. FIX BUG: This pdf form requires a newer version of Adobe Acrobat

   When opening PDFs from various sources, I often receive a JS pop up stating "This pdf form requires a newer version of Adobe Acrobat...", in spite of having the latest version of Reader (23.008.20555 as of this post) installed. There are often multiple (as on 3-7+) popup dialogs that repeat this message whether OK or Cancel is pushed (the only difference being OK opens a browser window to redownload what I already have).

   The PDFs in question are often generated by 3rd parties, E.G. Tax preparation software online. One such recent example used iText 2.0.7, which uses PDF version 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x) to generate a client's 2023 US tax paperwork.

   Disabling JavaScript is the only way to disable these incorrect warnings. However, when doing so, a large yellow banner then brands the document with a warning that the document uses JS for some features, which may or may not apply. It can't then be dismissed. If enabled for use though, which may be necessary to completely view a document, the same series of warnings once again surfaces unnecessarily.

   I have found this irritating and very problematic BUG across a variety of PDF documents over the past few years. This needs to be addressed in Acrobat itself IMHO. If the version of Acrobat in use is newer than the document opened, this should not happen. The version check is failing.

8. Uncomfortable tab selecting and closing with full-screen mode in Mac new layout

   Whenever I decide to go full-screen with my Mac (the green button in the top left corner, not the Adobe reading mode), it is almost impossible to choose from the different tabs that I have open, and it is even harder to close them. Why?

   The new Adobe Reader layout has the tab bar higher and closer to the Mac menu bar. While you enable full-screen, the Mac menu bar is hidden and you only access it while moving the cursor to the top of the screen. Now, as Adobe's tab bar is on top, whenever you try to select a different tab or try to close it, the cursor is displaying the Mac menu bar on top of the tab selector. This makes the experience of changing or ending activities quite uncomfortable, since you have to use the keyboard and the trackpad in a very specific way. Sometimes it takes up to one minute just trying to change/close bars, and it is frustrating to waste time in such a basic thing. If you could try something to fix the situation it would be amazing for Mac users that rely heavily on full-screen working, thank you!

10. New UI is Horrible!!!!

    Whoever dreamed up this mess should be fired immediately. It's confusing and I can't find anything. Give us the option to go back to the tried and true previous interface.
    Can't customize the top toolbar among so many other annoyances. Will be switching to another of the many free PDF alternatives.

11. Back and Forward buttons for in-PDF Navigation.

    Dear Adobe Support,

    This is to request a feature that would greatly enhance the usability and efficiency of your PDF readers. I am referring to the back and forward buttons that would allow users to navigate through the links and bookmarks within a PDF document.

    As a researcher, I often read scientific papers that have thousands of links to equations, figures, tables, references, and other sections. These links are very useful for understanding the content and following the logic of the paper. However, without the back and forward buttons, it is very frustrating and time-consuming to navigate through these links. One has to manually scroll or use the page navigation toolbar to go back to the previous page or position, which often disrupts my reading flow and concentration. Sometimes, I even lose track of where I was before clicking on a link.

    Even though your PDF readers have some features that can help with navigation, such as the page thumbnails panel, the bookmarks panel, and the automatic scrolling, none of these features can replace the convenience and simplicity of the back and forward buttons.

    I think that adding the back and forward buttons to your PDF readers would be a valuable and appreciated improvement for millions of users, especially those who deal with academic, technical, or legal documents.

    This feature is hardly available in any web browsers or other PDF viewers. It would be great if Adobe, as the leader and pioneer in PDF technology, could also implement this feature in its products.

    I hope that you will recognize my request as something simple yet of radical importance and forward it to the product management team.

    Since a few days, my Adobe Acrobat Reader on mac book pro doesn't open PDF file anymore. I uninstalled and reinstalled many but it doesn't help, the problem persists

13. Bug report - Manual Zoom value not saved when using zoom buttons

    Version 2023.008.20470 64-bit, Windows 11, Using new Reader interface.

    Summary: When the zoom +/- buttons are used, if a manually entered zoom value was used, that value is lost.

    Impact: The only way (known to the user) to bring up the zoom value entry field is to first press either the zoom +/- buttons. When this is done, it also moves to the next zoom preset and you lose your custom zoom value.

    Expected result: There is some way to view your zoom setting without changing it. Also, if a custom zoom setting has been entered manually, the zoom +/- buttons will either increase or decrease incrementally from that, or at least keep that last setting in the cycle of zoom values. Maybe bringing up the zoom slider / zoom value popup when you <right click> the zoom +/- button without changing the current zoom setting would solve part of the issue.

    Observed Result: Currently the only way to see the zoom value appears to be by first pressing the zoom +/- button, but this also changes the zoom setting at the same time. Once changed, you need to manually enter your zoom value again. If you don't remember which value you entered last, you might then need to try several different zoom values to get back to the one you were using.

    Example: I wanted the page zoomed slightly larger than the "Fit-to-width" size (158%) . I manually set the zoom to 165%. After that, when I pressed the zoom + button, it drops back to 158%. Some custom zooms jump to the next highest detent. I haven't figured out the pattern when it jumps up or down from the current setting, but either way, it drops my manually entered zoom and I see no way to confirm my zoom before changing it.

14. Easy option to turn on/off high contrast

    I work with 'White text on Black' option. But often, the content is not readable and I have to temporarily turn off the 'Use High Contrast colours for document text' option and turn it back again. Presently, I have to access the option through Edit->Accessibility->Setup Assistant->Next button and click 'Next' another three times each time I need to change the setting.

    Please provide an easy way to quickly turn on/off the High Contrast option? I am using Acrobat Reader 2023.008.20421 on Windows 11 Home

16. Printing current view as a poster doesn't always result in layout in preview

    Print current view is a great feature when working with engineering drawings that were intended for printing larger than A4, but when one only has an A4 printer. However I have found sometimes when combined with poster mode say to split a page into two sections the output from the printer doesn't match preview. E.g. printing page 139 of attached PDF as a preview of two landscape pages sometimes results in printer a grid of 4. Printer is Brother L3510, Adobe is version 2023.006.20380 64 bit windows.

17. "Contextual Markup Palette" in Adobe Acrobat

    As a devoted user of Adobe Acrobat, I appreciate the powerful tools it provides for working with PDF documents. However, I believe there is room for enhancement in the area of document markup and annotation. There should be a part of the user interface where you could link and include US Cook Groups The proposed feature is a "Contextual Markup Palette" designed to streamline the annotation process and improve overall user efficiency.

18. Gibberish display and in secure PDF documents

    We use adobe reader to access the internal secure documents with username log in and password. Normally these files are electronics schematics made from an OrCAD software. Recently when I found a problem in adobe reader during display of these secure documents. The text and lines all will be displayed in gibberish way and sometime the desktop background also display in adobe reader secure documents. I tried to repair the adobe reader, unfortunately that didn’t work. But this problem only solves after I try to uninstall and re-install again only. But it’s not possible to uninstall and re-install again and again whenever I face a problem with it. And, I found the root cause of this problem is only when I let the secure document open and make the system (PC/LAPTOP) sleep without closing the reader. I found this problem with other systems also.

    Laptop/PC details:

    Make: Lenovo ThinkPad.

    Operating system: Windows 11.

    Adobe reader: Latest Version. (Tried with older version also.)

20. Printer Properties window not clickable at times

    Have experienced an issue where when you click on the Properties button on the Print window, the Properties window is unclickable. This was raised by one of our users who had experienced this on multiple computers we had provided them over the years.

    Initially thought it was a printer driver issue, but I was able to replicate this on multiple different printer brands with different drivers (including the latest). Mainly tested with Konica and HP printers. This could be reproduced on different computers running Windows 10.

    To replicate, you have to click on the Properties a number of times and it will suddenly give you the window but not be able to click on it. It is not in a Not Responding state, but more like if there is another dialog box preventing you from clicking it (which there isn't any). The keyboard however is able to navigate the interface however.

    We had experienced this on multiple versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader and had also attempted a complete re-install. We had also tried the solution in: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/nothing-happens-click-printer-properties.html which has not helped either.
