  1. With the older version of Adobe reader in the commenting feature, I could highlight some text and start typing and it would automatically cross the text out and allow me to type to replace it. Now I have to manually select the function any time I want to replace text.

Same with selecting text and deleting it.

The update is not user friendly, and it's now taking me a lot longer to complete my proofreading jobs.

    Dear user,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are fully aware of the problem, and I want to assure you that our team is actively working on it. We will notify you as soon as we have a fix scheduled for inclusion in one of our upcoming releases.

Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

  2. I haven't seen anything as catastrophic as the new interface in years, it will be **** to work with this.
The problem is the new floating menu for "Add comment". The menu, if activated, used to be on top of the page, so you could access everything with one click.

Now with the new menu, I have to laboriously access everything with at least two clicks. It is beyond annoying and time-consuming.

I am an editor and I work on lage pdfs which may have hundreds of comments and corrections. This will add to my workload no end. What on…

  3. You've provided toolbars at the top since the pdf reader existed. Now they are on the side and we cannot move them in this, the era of customization. Who thought this was a good idea?

  4. Environment
    Windows10 or 11 (Japanese)

The "type" of PDF file in the popup that appears when the cursor is moved over the file in Explorer is missing the "Acroba書類" with a "t". This is very weird and needs to be fixed.

    Steps to reproduce the issue

    1. save the PDF file in Explorer or on the desktop
    2. Move the mouse pointer over the PDF file icon.
    3. A pop-up window opens and shows various information, but the "Type" item is "Acroba書類".

    Expected result
AcrobatReader" is displayed as "Acrobat書類" as well as Acrobat Pro.

    Observed result
On a PC with only Acrobat Reader…

  6. Any chance that Adobe Reader will be integrated with Microsoft Edge Chromium in a similar way Adobe Reader is integrated with Internet Explorer 11 via ActiveX? Users opening pdf in IE are not even aware they see Adobe with plenty of features. ActiveX is legacy technology and not supported by modern browsers but maybe Adobe plans some deeper integration with Microsoft? I'm working in corporate environment with 70 housand users and received feedback that Microsoft Edge built-in pdf reader cannot open many pdf-s created in Adobe products. So in Edge browser there is option to redirect PDF to Adobe reader by…

  8. Many PDF documents contain internal links. When clicking on these, the user is taken to another part of the document. It would be incredibly useful to me and my colleagues if there was a 'preview link' option. Perhaps this could work by hovering the mouse over the link, and the preview to the link pops up in a small temporary window, allowing you to quickly view the link, without redirecting to a different page.

The motivation for this is as follows: In mathematical sciences, these internal links often refer to equations earlier in the document, which are being combined to…

  10. When the above option is selected the hightlighting of the current bookmark should follow the reading, i.e. the hightlighted bookmark should be synchronous to the currently read text. This was the case in former Readers but does not work any more.

  11. If we don't know meaning of the word while reading in a document then there must be search by web option along with the copy tab or you can simply add Dictionary into Adobe so that it will become more user friendly and more helpful to the person who is in need to search that meaning.

  14. It is already extremely annoying to hide elements in Acrobat.

For reasons only known to your idiot design team, you persist in the view that the UI MUST BE RESET ON EVERY DOCUMENT LOAD.

I read > 30 PDFs in a DAY. FOR EVERY ONE, I have to hide elements of the UI (typically the left side). EVERY F*** PDF.

Today I find that hitting Ctrl-Home re-displays the full left bar.
    WHY.
WHO THINKS THIS IS A GREAT IDEA - Lets re-purpose a standard document navigation key into a UI state change.
PG UP to the top page does the…

  15. I know that a lot of programs are switching towards a tab-based structure when opening several files at a time. But it sometimes is very handy to be able to open several PDFs in several windows. I know that this is possible by rightclicking the file etc., but I miss a setting that opens PDFs be default in a new window - and not in a new tab.

Can there be some kind of "setting" that says:
O - open PDFs in new tabs
X - open PDFs in new windows

  16. I have to work with PDFs a lot and I have to deal with them via browser. For the past years I haven't had any problems with using the browser PDF-viewer, but as of recently the option to do a quick google search in a new tab when highlighting text within a document and right-clicking on it is no longer available. There is 'copy', 'print', 'rotate', 'save as' but not the 'search the web for [highlighted text]' which was so very helpful and useful for me. Please, consider making it available again since I can hardly imagine how anyone would…

  17. In some documents, there is by coincidence background colors that are very close to the color that Acrobat uses to enhance the visibility of searched-for text.

In Acrobat preferences there is no way of changing this background color. For me, searched-for-and-found would be shaded a bright yellow. The default value is nice on a white background, but no use on documents that happen to have a similar (slate blue) color background.

  20. Because I have to work many times on a multitude of opened pdf files that I need to keep open for days in a row, I think a feature to restore previous session of opened documents (just like Firefox or Google Chrome) would be really helpful!

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us for you conerns.

We already have it implemented in Reader.
Do “File” → “Reopen PDFs from last session.” And that should restore all the pdfs that were present in you last session at the time of Quiting the application.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
    Ayush Jain
