  1. I am trying to use this for my Eagle Project, but that was a bad idea, since no one else can open the files and I can't convert them without spending money on a very basic thing. Now I've got time invested which I would lose if I swapped to another, better product. I understand your business model is to get people with annoying free stuff so they buy the good ones, but hot dang is this especially bad.

  2. I'm an occasional user that only needs some of the premium features in Reader once in a while. An example would be adding or removing pages. $13.49 per month is absolute robbery. Instead, I use free programs when needed. Why not offer reasonable pricing plans, with annual payment options that non-commercial users can afford. Adobe thinking seems to be they'd rather have 100% of $0, rather than price it reasonably and add millions of new paying subscribers. Adobe is the best product; why not price it cheap and drive the copycats out of the market.

  7. I have encountered a bug in Acrobat Reader DC that is related to encoding of ECDSA digital signatures. The signature is composed of two numbers. It seems that when the highest bit of those numbers is set it is not padded with zero to make sure that the number is treated as positive integer. Instead it is treated as a negative integer. Adobe itself treats those signatures as valid, but other software refuses to accept them. Our nationwide eID uses ECC, so this bug impacts a large number of users. I can provide test file with valid and invalid signatures…

    1. Brief description: Translation bug.

    2. Steps to reproduce:

      On a Portuguese language installation:

      i. Create an appearance for a certificate-based signature, as described on the link bellow:

      https://helpx.adobe.com/br/acrobat/using/certificate-based-signatures.html?mv=product#create_the_appearance_of_a_certificate_based_signature

ii. Make sure to include the date in the signature text.

    3. Environment: Windows 10, Acrobat Reader DC - version 20.9.20067.384717 (Portugues)

    4. Expected result: Signature appearance should contain the text "Data" (The correct Portuguese translation for "Date"), followed by the date.

    5. Observed result: Signature appearance contains the text "Dados". See attached screenshot.

  10. As of the latest update (2020.009.20065), when a user clicks on the submit button in a form it asks for their login credentials and after they receive an error. In prior versions of Reader DC, a user would put in their credentials and the form would be submitted. Now, after update 20065, the user puts in their credentials they get the following error message. "An error occurred during the submit process. Authorization is required for this network service" and the form is not submitted.

  11. a feature that allows selection of a random, or multiple random, pages to view on the same screen or view with a quick action while reading.

much like when physically reading a technical publication that refers ahead or behind to photos or diagrams, you'll start to hold the page(s) with maybe a finger or two so you can quickly switch back and forth.

it would be nice to select a certain random page or maybe 2-3 to show on screen while reading your current page.

another option would be the ability to select 1 or multiple pages to view then…

  12. I frequently have to sign timesheets that have been scanned on to email. (i.e Flat form without autofull fields) Adding my signature is easy, but I have to type the date out as text. Having an extra button that allows the date to be added, without having to type it would be fantastic.

  13. Verion 20.006.20034.39303

When copying from a PDF document the text gets cut off after the SECOND letter 't' when trying to paste.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1) Open the PDF document attached to this
    2) Go to the first page of PDF
    3) Highlight the sentence "If the input parameter is a timestamp (without time zone) it applies the offset of the time zone you specify and returns a timestamp with the time zone."
    4) Paste into a text editor

    Expected Results

    All the text is copy/pasted

    Observed Results:

    Only the following is pasted:

"If the input parameter is a"

  15. Conditions: Windows 10. My internet was flaky, I think because my Ethernet wired interface has a hardware problem. For instance, Chrome was very slow or would not load a website at all. Edge would load sites usually when in this condition. I do not know how, but it did.

When in this hobbled operational mode, if I clicked a PDF file in explorer, or an attachment in my email reader, Acroread would simply not start up at all. I'm sure the executable began momentarily because I could see a little spinner appear momentarily, but nothing appears on screen. No splash…

  16. Scrolling or viewing pages should also have an option of viewing with a flipping animation. Many pdfs are huge files to read and an animation effect like this would make the reading experience more natural and smooth.

  17. I save certain PDF files to my Windows (10) Start Menu, usually in folders which, like "Start Menu", contain at least one space in their name.

The list of folders to which previous files have been saved apparently refuses to remember such folders, forcing me to copy-and-paste the applicable name /every/ time I want to save something there.

A folder name that does not contain any spaces, is remembered as usual.

  18. In the influx of remote learning, students are being sent work in PDFs. Opening them through Google Classroom in an internet browser offers no way to easily edit the content and fill in answers. As this will be a way of learning for the immediate future, something needs to be rolled out to allow this to be done for free for students. Currently I have to download and then open with adobe, but it’s a lot of extra steps when it could be so much simpler.

  19. Recently we have noticed certificate revocation checking failures with the latest version of Acrobat Reader DC.

In the Department of Defense, the OCSP URLs in the DOD PKI are "http://ocsp.disa.mil". These servers work. But they do not respond on the SSL-enabled port (https). But when we try to verify signatures with Acrobat DC, we get connection failures. Network tracing has revealed that even though the URLs in the certificate specify http, Adobe Reader is trying to connect to the https port, and this gets timeouts.

    Environment: MacOS X
Steps to reproduce: Get a certificate that has an OCSP URL…
