  1. I created a form using Adobe Acrobat 9. I added a java script in the background to alert the user of any fields that were not filled out, including multiple signature lines. I tested the form frequently, using Acrobat 9, pro and reader DC, and it worked perfectly. Now I am getting reports from the users(using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC), that they are getting an error message stating that the signature lines need to be populated when the lines have the signatures inserted already.

All users using the latest version of Adobe Reader DC, this issue occurred after the latest…

  2. Adobe Reader DC for Windows keeps files locked after they have been closed. It is necessary to completely close Adobe Reader DC for the files to be closed. Please fix this bug!

  3. If I make changes to several open PDF documents, it would be better to have an option to Save All changes other than get a prompt for every PDF document.

  4. Hello there,
Can you add a prompt for updates?
"Adobe Acrobat requires an update that will require a restart before using the application. Update and restart or install later?"

You see, when Acrobat updates automatically and I'm still running the app, I can still open things, but if Acrobat updates and I'm not currently running the app, then I can't open the app until I restart.
In terms of workflow this means that to access a PDF needed immediately for work I need to save and close everything, restart, then reopen everything. This took about 7 minutes without including reopening…

  5. I was not given an option to unselect the McAfee security offering at install. I only wanted Reader and nothing else but it installed all so I had to go through the uninstall process for the McAfee portion.

  7. For mouse based users. Remove the excess space, and reduce the size of toolbars and buttons, to maximise screen space available for the document.

  8. When double clicking a file in Windows Explorer where the path is longer than 260 characters does not work as default. But I have been able to create a workaround that enable this.

If I type the following in cmd.exe:
AcroRd32.exe "C:\Very long path\file.pdf" then that will fail.

If I enable "Enable Win32 long paths" in Group Policy and try the same command, then it works. This means that long paths are supported when it is enabled in Windows.

    I created a bat-file like this:
    set str=%1
    set str=%str:\?=%
    AcroRd32.exe %str%

This will remove \?\ from the first argument and…

  9. The new released MAC uses the new OS which is called "M1". Apple stopped using intel as their OS and started producing their own OS. I hope that the M1 OS compatibility will be available soon.

    Thank you

  10. When highlighting scanned documents, would be very helpful to have a key stroke option to force the tool to highlight a straight line. Acrobat will currently do this automatically for short/very straight segments. Please consider adding option to hold down a key (e.g., shift, ctrl, etc.) while using the tool to force a straight line rather than truly free form - which can be very messy and unprofessional in appearance depending on the context.

  11. I have a Microsoft Word file that has custom page size specified in the layout (specifically width 6.14" height 9.14"). There are also custom margins. When I convert to pdf via File > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF a pdf file is created but the page size is not correct. A pdf file is created that is 8.5"x11" not 6.14"x9.21". After trying to debug and spending 6+ hours with Microsoft tech support, there seems to be a problem on the Adobe side when the Word file is passed to Adobe to be converted into a pdf. I have noticed…

  13. First of all I want to thank all of you guys you are doing a great job.

second, I know that we can attach a jpg file ,but you will have to leave the reader and open it and when you send it to others it won't open and I know that we can edit pdf to add images ,but sometimes there is no enough space in the page and its so hard to readjust the pdf so it looks normal again, so if we could to comment with a sticky note but we can add in that sticky note…

  14. I would like to be able to save a PDF in only one click.
Currently, I have to click 3 times. I click on save.
    1. The 'Save as' windows open (this window is a fraud btw).
    2. Then I have to click on the folder that I want.
    3. Then I have to confirm the file name in the right folder.
Other softwares (such as Foxit) allow to simply save in one click my PDF in its original folder. As simple as that.
    Thanks

  16. I have had issues for several months with the thumbnails on PDF icons only. They are sometimes transparent, solid black, or have the PDF icon only. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. I have "enable PDF thumbnails in Windows Explorer" selected. Adobe Acrobat DC Reader is my default program with version 2021.001.20135. I have tried many things over a while, as this really was bugging me. Tonight I installed "Fixes for 64-bit Adobe Reader preview handler and thumbnails" from:
    https://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/index.html#thank

I figured I had nothing to lose and surprisingly it fixed the issue, especially as it hasn't been updated…

  17. When you select and open a list of pdfs, the tabs are currently opened in a seemingly random order. It would be very helpful if they opened in list order. I either have to open each file one at a time, or spend ages re-ordering tabs. It's frustrating, and impacts my work every day (because I need to open many pdfs at once, in order).

  18. Would be a magnificent addition if manual duplex printing could be selected for Adobe reader on Windows 10. Having read quite a few forums on the subject it would appear I'm not the only person who desires this.

  19. Currently the preferences window is very hard to use and frankly, broken:

You can't scroll with a touchpad.

You can't scroll with a touchscreen.

You can't scroll with a mousewheel.

Scrolling over a combo box changes the setting >:(

Content doesn't scroll when you drag the scrollbar!

The preferences window cannot resize small enough for smaller screens.

    Overall: infurating.
