Subject: Regression in Comment Author Behavior in Acrobat Pro 2025.001.20577

Product Version: Adobe Acrobat Pro 2025.001.20577
    Platform: Windows 11

    Issue Summary:
In previous versions of Acrobat Pro, it was possible to remove or customize the Author field in comments, then select "Make Properties Default" to apply that setting to future comments within the same session. While this setting would reset upon closing Acrobat, it at least respected the user-defined author name during that session.

In the current version (2025.001.20577), this functionality appears to be broken. Even when:

The "Always use log-in name for author name" option is disabled under Preferences > Commenting, and
The Author field is cleared or customized and "Make Properties Default" is selected,
…the Author field still reverts to the Windows login name or Adobe account name when Acrobat is restarted. This behavior persists across sessions and ignores the user-defined default.

    Steps to Reproduce:

Open a PDF in Acrobat Pro.
Add a comment (e.g., sticky note).
Change the Author field to blank or a custom name.
Right-click the comment and choose "Make Properties Default".
    Close and reopen Acrobat.
Add a new comment — the Author field reverts to the system name.
    Expected Behavior:
The Author field should retain the user-defined value (including blank) across sessions when "Make Properties Default" is selected and login name usage is disabled.

    Actual Behavior:
The Author field resets to the system or Adobe account name, ignoring user preferences.

    Impact:
This regression affects workflows where anonymity or consistent custom author labeling is required, especially in collaborative or privacy-sensitive environments.

    Request:
Please investigate and restore the previous behavior, or provide a method to permanently override the default Author field for comments.
