    Dandi! I figured out a work around. It takes time which is annoying but not as annoying as the faint highlighter.

    1. You highlight as usual.

    2. Click on the highlighted text and you get the blue box

    3. Go to the left edge of the blue box and hover right outside the blue line. A faint dotted box appears.

    4. Select the text and it will be a bit darker

    5. You can repeat this until you get the shade that works for you. Mine is three times.

    6 If you want to delete the highlight you will have to delete each layer. For instance for me it is three layers.

    I am sure there is an easier way but until I find it this works for me. I hope you see this!

    I have the exact same problem. I am sorry I don't see a solution here. Did you ever figure one out?
