    Given that this has been "under review" since January 8 2019, it is clear that Adobe do not see meeting their users needs on this as a high priority.

    Solved this. I use Preview on Mac. Works fine. Adobe seem determined to make what was a good program unusable, and charge an annual fee for the privilege.
