    You can find this a few places on the web, but since this seems to be the top hit when I searched I thought I would add it here as I think it addresses the original request.

    1. Open Adobe Reader, go to Edit menu & select Preferences from the drop-down. Preferences window will pop up on the screen.
    2. Choose Accessibility from the Categories section.
    3. Now check the Replace Document Color box.
    4. In front of Custom Color Please change the Page Background to Black & Text Document to White.
    5. Click OK to confirm the changes.
