  1. All of our PDFs need to be accessible to people with disabilities. For each PDF we need to generate a report in Acrobat that proves that the document is accessible. One area that isn't working well is the reading order.

Currently Acrobat's reading order means a computer reading order. We need a disability reading order. Acrobat's reading order is generated by the reverse of the layers panel in the source program where the document is designed. If we want to check the disability reading order we have to go to the tags panel and click on ever single line.

  2. Formerly we would save from Word to PDF Using "Save As" - Options - PDF/A and the accessible settings would hold.

Currently that is not true and creates additional errors. If we save using the generic "Save as Adobe PDF" the Accessible features carry over fine.

We have documentation out on the first procedure so it would be nice to have it fixed. It worked wonderfully in the past.

  3. Acrobat Pro should be able to find all accessibility errors and suggest a fix for each one, with a button to fix it, similar to find/replace in a document. When I use Acrobat Pro, it finds some of the accessibility errors, but no option to fix them. When I put it into PAC for the final check, it finds more errors so I am spending hours on each document that our agency posts online.

  4. Despite spending hours rearranging text elements in an interactive PDF exported from InDesign (both InDesign and Acrobat up to date as of March 2026), the read aloud feature is not following the reading order. It's also breaking up sentences despite there being no break in the tagged area.

It took so long to get elements in the right order. It's also incredibly frustrating having to save a new backup after every 5 pages because Acrobat's Reading Order panel is so buggy and unreliable. On top of that, it doesn't even have a single undo function, let alone multiple undoes.

  6. After that last update, converting a word doc to pdf is resulting in tagging errors. Specifically, normal text is tagged as headings, heading tags do not follow how the word document was tagged.

  7. This issue appears to be related to cursor behavior when accessibility settings are enabled. For accessibility reasons, the Windows cursor size is set to 9 (enlarged). When using Adobe Acrobat Pro, moving the cursor over a PDF document or navigating between form fields causes the cursor to rapidly switch to the hourglass/working icon, especially when hovering over text fields. This constant flickering and icon change is distracting and makes it difficult to work comfortably.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps, but the issue still occurs:

    • Adjusted Adobe Acrobat Preferences
    • Changed Windows OS settings (animations turned off)
    • Reset the…

  8. Make it easier to use Acrobat's accessibility interface.
Make a keyboard shortcut to add New Tags or add multiple tags.
REMOVE "AUTO TAG DOCUMENT" FROM IMMEDIATELY BELOW "NEW TAG." Or at least add a confirmation that you want to Auto Tag.
Allow us to UNDO Auto Tagging. (Auto tagging sucks, by the way)
Maybe read and apply all of the feature requests and bug reports that will improve the accessibility features instead of sitting on them for 10+ years?
Merge the reading order and tag panel so that they're not always glitching each other. Making changes to the reading order…

  9. Document titles consistently fail the accessibility check when a title is already present.

This happens to me and my peer. We use InDesign 2026 to generate PDFs and the current version of Acrobat 2025.001.20997 fails the title every single time. It also seems to fail the title on documents created with MS Word.

The fix is to open File > Properties, cut the title, OK out of the dialog, open File > Properties again, and paste the title back in. Then it quits failing the title.

This is an annoying bug that should be fixed.

  10. I have created a PDF form using Adobe Acrobat Pro and tagged every form manually to ensure that the NVDA user can fill out the form without accessibility issues, but NVDA does not interact with the form fields and user can not enter the text in the fields. If users use the Arrow key, NVDA reads all the text on the form but when using the Tab key for navigation, focus does not move and NVDA does not announce anything.

  11. We have three users all experiencing the same issues in Acrobat Pro. When opening a multi-page PDF, the PDF forcefully returns to page one. We have tried numerous settings in Acrobat and ZoomText:
Method 1: Change reading settings in Adobe Reader app
    1. Open Adobe Reader and either click Edit > Preferences or use the hotkey CONTROL+K.
    2. Click Reading in the category list.
    3. On the right hand side of the dialogue look for 'Page vs. document' drop down and set this to 'Read entire document'
    4. Then click 'OK' button or press ENTER to dismiss the dialogue.

  12. The Adobe help documentation does not cover an link annotation accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word), as it happens because the link in the footer turns problematic annotation during PDF conversion rather than a normal body link.

Most common reasons i found were:

The footer is being treated as an artifact or decorative repeated content
If the footer is artifacted or tagged incorrectly in the PDF, Acrobat may flag the hyperlink because the link annotation exists but is not properly associated with the content.

Word sometimes exports footer text infragments, especially…

  13. Bug/issue: Tagged Link structure reversed when exporting from InDesign 2026 to PDF - Windows.

We have a hyperlinked grouped object in InDesign 2026, when exporting this to PDF the Tag structure makes the <Link> tag the child of the parent <Figure> (which is incorrect), whereas when the same file is converted and exported from InDesign 2025, it makes the <Figure> the child of the parent <Link> (which is correct).

This is causing an accessibility failure, and we have 300 to manually correct in our PDF document which is time consuming, and we don't want to convert the file should anything…

  14. disable annoying popups like "Translate with Adobe Express" or let us disable them in options with one click. It looks like Adobe is out of finding useful functions and just adding more and more clutter to all excising apps.

  17. I am furious that I wasted my time signing up for what I believed to be a trial period to determine if your product would be beneficial to my position; however, I conclude that I can do no more with yopur FREE trial than I could without it and it is merely a ploy to get people to sign-up with the hope that they forget to cancel. Next time, advertise that the trial only allows access to two tools out of the numerous ones that you list to get people to sign up. I'm extremely disappointed and will be sure…

  20. In the Spanish version of Adobe Acrobat, the option corresponding to
“Change only black text and line art” is translated as:

“Cambiar solo el color del texto negro o arte lineal”

The use of “o” (or) is misleading. It suggests an alternative or exclusive choice, while the original English text clearly refers to both elements together (“text and line art”).

This wording creates confusion for users and makes it difficult to understand how this option interacts with the following one (“Change line art as well as text”).

Suggested fix: replace “o” with “y”, or rephrase the Spanish text to explicitly…
