  1. Affects Windows Office users who use Adobe Acrobat PDF Maker (the Acrobat ribbon) to export PDFs from MS Office apps. Definitely affects US English versions, and may affect other language versions.

With the recent Acrobat update on either Sept. 12 or Oct. 17, 2023 (Acrobat ver. 23.006.xxxxx with PDF Maker 23 and Library 23.6.136), figures anchored in the Word.docx file do not end up in the correct location in the PDF's tag tree.

<Figure> tags are scattered randomly throughout the PDF's Tag Tree, sometimes several pages AFTER their anchor point in the Word.docx. Some <Figure> tags do get placed correctly…

  2. With the latest update of Acrobat (2024.002.20895) I have been experiencing issues reading, completing, and interacting with PDF forms using both JAWS and NVDA screen readers. The screen reader keeps leaving forms mode when I'm in fields. Instead of typing into the field, it recognizes my keystrokes as JAWS commands. For example, when I try to type "Henry" in a Name field, pressing "H" makes it jump to the next heading in the document instead of typing the character(s). I have confirmed that I am in forms mode (both visually and via the sound the screen reader makes when entering…

  3. ADOBE, reinstate my Licence for Acrobat 8 Pro, that I have purchased and You disabled demanding re-registering which no matter how I try, Adobe makes impossible by Internet of Phone numbers that are not registered to no one.
I do not want to purchase or become a member of anything, been there done that. Just let me use the software I purchased, I own since 2006 and I was happy with until Adobe illegally disabled it in my computer !

  4. Using Adobe Acrobat Pro 64-bit, version 24.005.20399, on Windows 11, 24H2.

Selecting any of the sign-in options (Continue with Google, Continue with Facebook, Continue with Microsoft) fails to open a web browser to continue the sign in process. This will eventually time out and fail to sign you in.

Signing in using your email address, verification code, and password works fine. Issue is with using the SSO options that fail to open a web browser.

  7. Why are collaborative services running on my end user's computer? What do we need a collaborative synchronizer background service running for?

We are a company that forbids the use of cloud based services for obvious security reasons. Downloading a PDF viewing app such as Adobe Acrobat does not warrant the installation of cloud based services that we did not sign up for.

We have begun using Foxit, because Adobe continues to ***** around with customers, thinking that we need this or that while installing it all automatically without the option to opt out of any of it..

  13. If a hyphen is inserted in the middle of a word at the end of a line to divide it and continue on the next line, the Read Out Loud feature thinks it is the end of a paragraph, stops reading, and does not pronounce the divided word. It is stopping reading in the middle of a sentence. This makes for a more painful listening experience.

  14. As someone who has getting older and hard to see the tools, it would be spectacular if I didn't have to toggle to the pan button every time I open a PDF. Who want to select things by default in a PDF? Or at least have a preference so the user can select the desired tools to be set. I work with large plans, and it's my preference to be able to pan by default. I don't want the select tool active as it can select lines and get inadvertently moved. All you need to do is in Customize Toolbar,…

  16. According to the PDF Association Syntax Guide Page 26 (https://pdfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/TaggedPDFBestPracticeGuideSyntax.pdf#page=26), and <Lbl> tag should be applied to any labelling text, even if it is inside a caption for a figure or table. However, every time I run the accessibility check in Acrobat Pro on this, it fails it; it appears the check thinks that only LItems should contain an <Lbl> as a child.

Additionally, I think <Lbl>s should be allowed as the children of Paragraph tags as well, in the case where a single paragraph is labelled but the labelling text is not indicating the start of a…

  18. I hate it when you do updates and move or change the set up of toolbars etc. Please give us a choice to keep the old format or change to the new. I hate that the toolbar is no longer at the top. Icons are too small for older people to see. Bad, Bad, Bad. Disappointed in the "updates".

Although I am given an opportunity to revert to the old version, it does not happen when I close the app and restart without administrator access, which ads another layer with the IT department.

  19. Some tagged PDF tables have RowSpan/ColSpan for data cells (<TD> tags) defined in Attribute Classes. While these correctly appear in the tag properties under attribute classes, the "Check for Accessibility" feature ignores it.

To reproduce the issue, have a table with a cell spanning multiple rows or columns. Have the correct RowSpan/ColSpan tag under an attribute class instead of a direct attribute object. Run "Check for accessibility."

A small PDF showing this problem is attached. In particular the data cell in the second row with entry "1/2(2T+1)" is correctly tagged as spanning two rows with an attribute class.

    Using Windows…
