I echo the comments here. I have seen other posts, like this one, going back to at least 2018, regarding this general refresh issue, not just in the context of LaTeX, albeit, that is my use case.
I have seen some comments that this is not technically possible, but clearly, given that Preview on macOS can do this, it is possible.
It may require the ability to set/enable relevant user preferences, where a refresh function is disabled by default, so as to not affect existing expected behavior.
I would urge Adobe to give this a level of priority consideration, given the now multi-year history of these requests.
