Shortcut to Refresh/Reload PDF while working with LaTeX
Brief title for your desired feature: Refresh/Reload PDF
How would you like the feature to work? A keyboard shortcut or button that reloads the PDF currently being viewed.
Why is this feature important to you? I work with LaTeX a lot and the Acrobat Reader is the best PDF reader out there, but I frequently recompile a document and always have to close and reopen it to get the latest version. This is a hassle that could be made easy with a simple keyboard shortcut.

Many applications support this feature except Adobe reader in my Mac。 It really makes me confused as the file still stays the same even after a new version of the file generated with Latex。

I echo the comments here. I have seen other posts, like this one, going back to at least 2018, regarding this general refresh issue, not just in the context of LaTeX, albeit, that is my use case.
I have seen some comments that this is not technically possible, but clearly, given that Preview on macOS can do this, it is possible.
It may require the ability to set/enable relevant user preferences, where a refresh function is disabled by default, so as to not affect existing expected behavior.
I would urge Adobe to give this a level of priority consideration, given the now multi-year history of these requests.

Acrobat (and all its derivatives & applications) desperately need a "Reload" or "Refresh" command for the currently selected .PDF document. Not only may the document have changed on the server without a semaphore lock on the file, but also Acrobat applications can frequently run into some kind of file reading problem, such as temporarily disconnected server, internet connection, corrupted connection, or not enough memory at the moment. Who knows why these issues were not accounted for, but because of these issues, it seems very short-sighted from the development side to not have included a simple way to refresh/reload the currently selected document. Also, the 'recent files' list does not seem to update to include the currently selected file when such an issue occurs; so, it's doubly frustrating because the user can not simply close & reload the file from the 'recent files' list -- instead, the user often has to go through the potentially long file navigation process all over again.

This is because Acrobat uses a semaphore lock to take ownership of the file because either it does not fully read & buffer the file or Acrobat is reserving the right to save its own edits.
There should be a configuration or command option to open the file for viewing only in a fully buffer method to allow other applications to continue to freely access the file, or open the file for editing in a locked manner, blocking other applications. -

It is worse for me since having a file opened in Acrboat in fact blocks the creation of an updated pdf file. It would be great for me (and tens of thousands of other LaTeX users) to allow for an automatic reload as an option.
