I have been having this issue for a long time as well. It has actually appeared once we subscribed to the CC. Beforehand, Acrobat 9 was working well.
Page rendering is extremely slow when the Output preview dialog is open, or when viewing comments. It can get extremely slow when zooming in, panning, turning separations on and off, because the screen renders again, at each step, and does so very, very slowly. It can sometimes be several seconds per render. This happens even on simple documents. The problem becomes worse when multiple documents are open, which is needed in many cases for cross-checking.
I am using a 2020 iMac with 24GB RAM and a 6-core processor at 3,3GHz which was recently purchased so it definitely can't be a hardware issue.
I sincerely hope someone from Adobe picks this up, as the software is very vital to our studio's work and it has been a very frustrating and time consuming issue for a long time now.
