1. Drawing Tool

   Drawing tool locks up in Adobe Pro and won't release upon mouse release. So if I want to add a circle, for example, I go to draw the circle and the drawing tool won't release to actually add the circle into the document. It just takes the one circle and constantly re-sizes it and drags it all over the document but won't release. It is problematic with both my wired mouse and built-in touch pad.

4. Protected mode becoming mandatory

   A post was made regarding Sandbox/Protected mode becoming mandatory, but I would like this option to remain available.
   There are many cases where features do not work correctly unless this mode is turned off, and disabling it serves as a necessary workaround.
   Additionally, since there are plugins that are no longer in active development, losing the ability to use them would be a major inconvenience.

5. Acrobat 26.002.21931 creates 10,000+ USER objects / 12,000+ windows, exhausts Windows desktop heap and freezes the PC

   BUG REPORT

   Product: Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) 26.002.21931, Continuous track, Creative Cloud subscription
   OS: Windows 11 Home 25H2, build 26200.9550
   Hardware: Dell XPS 17 9710, Intel i7-11800H, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3050 Laptop

   SUMMARY
   Since mid-September 2026 my laptop froze completely 8 times (screen locked, no input, Sign out hangs, only the power button works). Windows never blue-screened. Each freeze is preceded by the System event log entry Win32k 704 "A desktop heap allocation failed", followed by Explorer.EXE, ctfmon.exe and dwm.exe crashing.

   A per-process monitor running every minute shows Acrobat.exe is the process filling the desktop heap:
   - 2026-09-23 14:17 -> 14:18: Acrobat.exe went from 205 to 10,000 USER objects (the per-process cap) within one minute, right after a second Acrobat window opened a PDF. Session total went 3,577 -> 13,241. The PC froze about 30 seconds later.
   - 2026-09-23 14:42: a freshly launched Acrobat.exe, sitting on the Home screen with NO document open, owned 12,105 top-level and child windows (counted with EnumWindows/EnumChildWindows). Every other process on the machine combined owned about 650.
   - Even idle, Acrobat.exe holds about 1,390 windows for hours.

   STEPS TO REPRODUCE (on my machine)
   1. Launch Acrobat, stay on the Home screen. Count windows owned by Acrobat.exe (Process Explorer or EnumWindows): ~1,400 immediately, sometimes >12,000.
   2. Open a PDF in a second Acrobat window. USER objects for Acrobat.exe jump to the 10,000 cap within a minute.
   3. Once the interactive desktop heap (default 20 MB) is exhausted, Windows logs event 704 and the shell crashes; the PC must be power-cycled.

   EXPECTED RESULT
   Acrobat holds a few hundred windows/USER objects like any other desktop app.

   OBSERVED RESULT
   Thousands of windows at idle, 10,000 USER objects after opening a PDF, desktop heap exhausted, whole PC frozen.

   WORKAROUNDS
   - Uninstalling Acrobat 26.002.21931 (2026-09-23). No freeze since.
   - Raising the interactive desktop heap to 40 MB only delays the freeze.

   SETTINGS AT THE TIME
   - Generative AI features were enabled during the freezes; the 12,105-window burst happened with them still enabled.
   - Acrobat was the default PDF handler.

   I can provide the per-minute CSV log of USER/GDI/window counts per process for 2026-09-22/23, Windows System and Application event log extracts around each freeze, and a snapshot of all processes at the moment of the 704 event.

6. Performance degrades when multiple windows are opened

   After a recent update, navigation performance is severely degraded when multiple Acrobat windows are open (Window > New Window). Things like scrolling around and moving through pages becomes laggy. Performance returns after closing these extra windows. Didn't used to be like this.
   My version is 2026.002.22031 64-bit Windows

7. Stop streaming network files

   I want to leave documents open for days at a time but Acrobat does not like this. Network files will eventually encounter a stream error or pages become blank (even though I currently have network access). To recover from this, I have to close and reopen each of these files, which means I will lose my place in the documents. Even with small documents only a few Mb in size. Why is Acrobat trying to stream network files? There is plenty of system memory, just hold the file in memory for performance benefit. Or at the very least, if you are going to stream the file, allow it to load in place rather than making me close and reopen these files.

   Not sure if it is triggered by time, or if it occurs do to a TEMPORARY network disruption.

   This does not seem to happen for local files, only files on company network)

   を有効にすると、PDFを関連付けしましょうという案内が毎回出てきます。
   Adobe AcrobatがデフォルトのPDFアプリケーションではない場合に通知(T)の

9. Acrobat Pro prevents Windows 10 from Sleeping or Hibernating

   Adobe Acrobat (version 2026.001.21789) is preventing Windows 10 from sleeping or hibernating, regardless of how it is launched. Sleep is not re-enabled until Acrobat is exited.

   Additional diagnostic information is below. Here are the results from a powercfg /requests command showing the process which is preventing sleep. These processes disappear from this list after Acrobat is closed.

    I have been an Adobe pdf user for many years, one of the reliable features was viewing the thumbnail of the file so it doesn't matter what the name of the file is, you can always have access to the title page at a glance. even when that feature was corrupted there was always a patch file that can resolve. now that I am a paying user, the new Adobe pdf will close if I am offline which is inconvenient. I cannot resolve my thumbnail preview. I cannot use repair installation as it abruptly stops or stop responding what's the story? please advise

    Feedback:

    A recent background update for Adobe Acrobat automatically installed Adobe Express Photos without user consent or notice.

    Software updates must not bundle unwanted secondary software or disrupt existing workflows. Specifically:

    No unauthorized software installs: Acrobat updates should maintain and secure Acrobat, not silently install unrelated consumer apps.
    
    Do not hijack OS-level shortcuts: The app automatically hijacked the Windows Print Screen shortcut, overriding native OS tools (Snipping Tool) and user-defined hotkeys without asking.
    
    Provide clear in-app controls: Users should have an explicit toggle in Preferences to opt out of promotional add-on rollouts, rather than having to deploy custom registry policies to stop forced reinstalls.
    

    Pushing unrequested software and altering system behavior without permission demonstrates bad faith toward your users. Practices like this directly push me to seek alternatives and switch to competing PDF products.

13. Acrobat Pro 26.002.21901 fails to launch on macOS Ventura — libthorvg.dylib

    Following the September 8, 2026 Acrobat update, Acrobat Pro stopped launching on macOS Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68).

    The application silently terminates immediately after launch, without displaying an error dialog or generating a conventional crash report.

    Using Terminal and macOS unified logging, I identified a dynamic-library loading failure involving libthorvg.dylib. The log indicates that this library was built for macOS 15.0, which is newer than the running operating system, followed by a missing C++ symbol error.

    I have already attempted a normal uninstall, Adobe Cleaner Tool, restart, and fresh installation. None resolved the problem.

    Since Adobe lists macOS 13 as supported, this appears to be a binary compatibility or packaging regression introduced by the update.

    Please escalate this issue to Acrobat engineering and confirm whether it has been addressed in a subsequent build, including 26.002.22031.

15. Latency and sluggish performance

    I am currently on 2026.002.21996 64bit.

    A few updates ago Acrobat Pro has become extremely sluggish. Switching between tabs takes a few seconds to render, clicking to change tools or menus takes longer now, ect... Overall the experience has been declining slowly ever since the new interface was implemented.

17. Color is displayed incorrectly on PDFs after saving them with illustrator

    After saving a file with illustrator as a pdf file, the colours are displayed incorrectly when opened with acrobat reader. When opening the file with other software, the colours are displayed correct. Please fix your **** asap.

    Please add a native download button within PDF Spaces that allows users to export their generated podcasts as offline audio files (such as MP3 or WAV format) directly to their local device.

    Currently, listening to a generated podcast requires an active internet connection to access the PDF Space. However, users frequently need to consume these audio recaps while commuting, traveling, or working in areas with limited or no connectivity (such as airplanes or remote locations). Providing an offline download option ensures uninterrupted access to our generated content anytime, anywhere, and significantly improves the overall utility of the tool.

20. My idea is a CLEAR way to disable the AI assistant feature.

    How can we turn off these unwanted AI assistants? I asked it, and of course it was incorrect. Told me to go to settings, which I did not find in any clear way in the Adobe reader program. Intrusive and unwanted constantly popping up to 'help'.
