You can back up Yahoo emails with all their attachments manually but it's a lot of work and not the best way to do it for big mailboxes. Using a solid backup tool is a better way. I used GainTools Yahoo Backup Software for this and it worked really well. All you have to do is log in to your Yahoo account using IMAP settings and pick the folders you wish to back up. The program lets you save emails in many formats, such as PST, MBOX, EML, and more. It retains the formatting of all attachments and the structure of the folders the same, which is quite useful if you want to recover or move the material later.
