Insurance companies rely on third-party background check agencies, and they do make mistakes more often than you’d think — outdated records, wrong info, or mixing you up with someone else entirely. I’d suggest taking a look at this resource: https://consumerattorneys.com/practice-area/insurance-background-check-errors — it breaks down your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and shows you how to take action if the report cost you a job. Also, make sure you get a copy of the report they used to deny you. You’re legally entitled to it. Then, if the info is wrong, dispute it immediately — both with the background check company and the employer if needed. It’s exhausting, I know, but don’t let them bury your future under a glitch.
