Description:
When using Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows 11 with taskbar buttons set to never combine and show labels, duplicate icons appear on the taskbar.
The issue usually happens when:
-switching between virtual desktops,
-resuming from sleep,
-or moving Acrobat windows between multiple monitors.
One icon works correctly, but the duplicate is a “ghost”: it cannot be opened, focused, or closed, and it only disappears when all Acrobat windows are closed (or after restarting Windows Explorer).
Impact:
-Clutters the taskbar and wastes space.
-Breaks workflow when using uncombined buttons with labels.
-Requires closing all Acrobat windows or restarting Explorer to fix.
Expected behavior:
Each Acrobat window should have exactly one functional taskbar button, consistent across desktops, monitors, and after sleep/resume.
