    Workaround:

    * Select the images in the Finder
    * Drag them onto Preview.app, or right-click and Open With > Preview.app
    * File > Print
    * In the print dialogue, click the PDF pop-up and select Save as PDF

    Save the PDF then open it in Acrobat Pro, edit as desired. This may be useful for a slide show:

    Tanvi, I just received a folder of 126 numbered image files, to turn into a PDF slideshow. I can select noncontiguous multiples, but I can't reorder them! I can't drag-reorder. I can only select single filenames and click a Move Up button to move an item down a single place.

    This nonstandard behaviour is completely unusable for the task, so now I will research some software to pad numeric filename fragments in the Finder, or to replace Acrobat Pro in compiling a PDF slide show.

    Even though we can rearrange, it would be nice if your custom dialogue worked the way Thanks, Tanvi. It would be helpful if the custom dialogue in File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF File worked like every other app has, for as many years as I can remember. Or at the very least respected the order seen in the standard open dialogue in its Add Files. . . menu.
