  1. Several major bugs have been documented by users in the Adobe Community Forums since Acrobat and PDF Maker were updated on September 14, 2021.

    They are:

1: Alt-Text from MS Word is not converting into the PDF. Instead, it is dropped and gibberish code is inserted. See https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/alt-text-converting-wrong-from-word-to-pdf/m-p/12393017 This violates the PDF/UA-1 standard which requires that every graphic have alt-text that verbally describes the graphic.

THIS IS A HUGE BUG. You essentially have made Acrobat unusable for those who are required by their country's laws to make fully accessible PDFs.

    Hi,

Thank you for raising these accessibility issues. The post mentions about the following six bugs being introduced with the update that went live on September 14, 2021

1: Alt-Text from MS Word is not converting into the PDF. Instead, it is dropped and gibberish code is inserted
2: Every cell border on every table cell is being tagged as <P>PathPathPathPath
3: The underline on Hyperlinks should be tagged as artifacts
4: Borders and background shadings on Text Boxes are being tagged as a combination of <Figure>s and PathPathPath
5: Paragraph borders and shadings: same deal as #4 above.Per the PDF/UA-1 standard, they are visually decorative and should be artifacted
6: Dragging and dropping elements in both the Tag and Order panels is now broken.

Would like to mention that out of these, #1 and #6 were introduced with the Sep 14 update and remaining (#2, #3, #4 & #5)…

  2. In MS Outlook you can create a pdf and add it to an existing pdf. (As in my attached screen shot)
Please make this available in Excel

  3. When printing to Adobe PDF printer driver we can use custom page sizes. However, the driver software is not allowing to add pages smaller than one inch (if only one dimension is smaller than one inch - the definition is not possible).

If there is a reason of not supporting a small pages, it should be published and documented. Also, when adding custom pages smaller than one inch there should be a warning or error messages displayed. The existing page definitions should not be automatically deleted.

  4. I am able to combine multiple images into a combined PDF file but then when trying to save, I can select the location and hit save, but nothing happens and the save is NOT completed. This seems to happen if the combined file is more than 300 pages, regardless of the images size. If I perform multiple combines and the total pages exceed that threshold, I need to quit the application and restart to be able to save. This only occurs with the 64-bit version (latest version and versions since last June) as I am now working with the 32-bit…

  7. I'd like an Acrobat utility that permits one to swipe to the next page, or use a key to turn the page, so the PDF becomes more like a book. Here's an example of such software: https://www.1stflip.com/page-turning-software.html

There are many products out there. I like Acrobat Reader and I'd like something that integrates perfectly with it, and with my existing Adobe subscription.

I think the idea, and the value of the idea, is self-explanatory. It's an extension of the creative possibilities that is key to your marketing.

    Thank you.

  9. We need PDFMaker logs from Outlook, specially when we try to convert folders or files from outlook there is no tool that can provide that.
We only have logs for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  10. In the past, I have been able to select multiple PDF files from a Windows File Explorer, right-click, and "Combine files in Acrobat DC..." However, lately it no longer works. The Acrobat DC program will open to the home tab, but then I have to go back to the explorer and redo the process, then it will work. So, it appears the program needs to be open before the combine PDFs option works. Is there a way to fix this, so it will open the program and go to the combine files tool immediately, other than repeating the process twice?

  11. Dear Adobe engineers,

I want to report a VERY annoying bug, which happened now several times.

I use the latest versions of Acrobat Pro DC (2022.003.20258 | 64 bit) and Microsoft Excel (2209 Build 16.0.15269.20200) 64bits, both French versions under Windows 11.

I have an Excel spreadsheet containing 12 invoices tabs, one per month. If I export in PDF only one tab, ALL OTHERS ARE DELETED and the PDF file is not created!!! When I reopen the Excel file, all tabs but the current one have been suppressed (my files are automatically saved and synced on OneDrive).

    I have observed…

  12. Please restore the 'merge PDFs' capability. I do not mean 'combine PDFs'. Merging PDFs was simple with Acrobat X.

  13. Links that are embedded in the original article do transfer to the PDF and are discoverable when hovering over. Optimal would be to be able to change the link text color to blue. Right now, the options allow creating a visible blue outline around the link, though there is not an option to change the link text for the existing link itself to blue

  14. In create Pdf feature we have multiple formats supported to convert into pdf and combine however for visio files we have only .vsd format available but not .vsdx. kindly add .vsdx visio format also in supported list of file formats it would be helpful for visio drawings to get convert and combine in single pdf file.

  15. Select multiple pdf files and right click + combine, then save - opens the folder (destination) the combining files are. If this feature is available, It saves a lot of time.

    P.S. Nothing is impossible!

  16. When creating a document by clicking save as Adobe PDF in word, I am finding that it will randomly leave out sentences in the final product. It is very prevalent after photos and section headings. See the examples attached.

  17. Please make it easier to find settings so I can uncheck save as portfolio. The portfolio view of a combined document makes it less easy for my customers to see what I sent. This is creating relationship issues & costing time.

  18. When creating a PDF via the "Create PDF" button in the Adobe Ribbon in MS Word, I have noticed that sometimes the hyperlinks are not clickable in the PDF and sometimes they are. I found the pattern and I think it's a bug.

    1) If a hyperlink in the DOCX contains an anchor (e.g. www.myfile.com#page=32), then all the linked text after that one in the PDF are not clickable. The anchor in the DOCX also causes the bookmarks in the PDF to render incorrectly from that point on.

    2) If a hyperlink in the DOCX is internal, then it…

  20. To ensure that assistive technologies can parse tables, headers that are repeated across pages should be marked as artifacts. This is recommended by the PDF Association's Tagged PDF Best Practice Guide: Syntax: https://www.pdfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/TaggedPDFBestPracticeGuideSyntax.pdf . However, this structure is not followed by PDFMaker when converting from Word to PDF.

    Steps to reproduce the issue
    1. Open the attached Word document.
    2. Go to Acrobat > Create PDF.
    3. Press Save.
    4. Open the resulting PDF (also attached).
    5. Open the Tags panel (View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Tags).
    6. Expand the <Table> tag.
