    I suspect it may have been changed in an update since the original post. It used to read dashes aloud as "to" and now it doesn't read them at all. For example, the text: "Chapter 2-1" would be read as "chapter two to one", I thought it would be more correct to read this as "chapter two dash one", now the Adobe reader reads them as "chapter two one". I think just saying the word "dash" would make this less confusing for most circumstances.

    It is not under the "tools" menu, rather it is view>read out loud

    As the Adobe Acrobat Reader reads the character: -
    It says it audibly as "to", instead, it would be more accurate to say, "dash" or similar word since sometimes the dash can represent a chapter title or subtraction.
