I just started having the same issue a week or so ago. I've been using Acrobat DC for a long time and never encountered it before. I started hearing my fans going strong, and checked Activity Monitor and found its usually Acrobat Pro DC and AcroCEF or AcroCEF Helper that are at the top of the list of CPU hogs. When I quit the app the problem stops. I'm running

    Architecture: x86_64
    Build: 19.12.20034.328841
    AGM: 4.30.85
    CoolType: 5.14.5
    JP2K: 1.2.2.43391

on my 13" Mac Pro with OS Sierra v 10.12.6.

    Thanks for any help!
