My Outdoor Camera is not working properly
I installed a D-Link outdoor mini bullet camera outside my garage a few months ago for security monitoring, and it was working perfectly in all weather conditions at first. Recently though, the camera randomly loses connection during the night and sometimes the video feed becomes blurry or completely black after light rain. I already checked the wiring, reset the camera settings, and updated the firmware, but the issue still keeps happening. Now I’m not sure if the camera itself is failing or if moisture may have affected the connections somehow. Any advice would really help before I replace the whole setup.

That honestly sounds like moisture may have gotten into either the camera housing or the cable connections, especially since the problems get worse after rain. I had something similar happen with an outdoor camera where the Ethernet connector wasn’t sealed properly, and it caused random disconnects and blurry footage at night. Since you already updated the firmware and checked the wiring, I’d probably inspect the connectors closely for corrosion or water damage before replacing the entire unit.
If you do end up replacing it, you could check
https://etechdevices.com/collections/cameras since they usually have decent security camera options and accessories. You might also find useful troubleshooting advice on forums like “SecureCamTalk” because a lot of people there discuss outdoor camera issues caused by weather and power problems. Hopefully it’s just a connection issue and not the camera sensor itself failing.
