Making new features optional would be great! Some new features are not requested by the users, but by an internal development team and are an impedement to a user that has many years of experience with the product - or maybe someone just learned all the steps do do something. The reporting would be great to inform management that a certain feature is widely used or that the man years of coding was a waste. How the good and poor paths were chosen would be valuable to see how the end result happened.

I agree, it's too close to the scroll bar. I have never seen this design in a product from any other company. A standard user interface makes a product easier to use. Unfortunately, I must move the sidebar (mostly) out of the way, every time and also enable smooth scrolling, every time, so Adobe reader will behave like every other browser and editor. Yes, I can change the setting but i have to redo it every time I use Adobe reader.
