Could you pls. share how are the PDFs being accessed? Are these kept on a network folder or shared (mapped n/w) drive? Or are you accessing them through a Citrix server or RDP?

I have this same issue. The file has to be closed and reopened in order to view or edit it. Has there been a fix for this yet? Seems to be a longstanding issue.
