If, like me, Daphney is signed in and has a valid account WHY DOESN'T' ADOBE ACROBAT AND THE CREATE PDF SERVICE RECOGNIZE THAT. Moreover, even when it looks like I've been able to convert Word to a PDF, most of the links aren't there. That means the issue is well beyond some inane subscription issue. Is this some war between Adobe, MS, and Apple? Criminy crickets.
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter Williams commentedCreate PDF can't create a PDF correctly from a Word document (DOCX) in mac High Sierra. Acrobat Pro DC doesn't work to create a PDF because it fails to recognize that I'M LOGGED INTO MY ACCOUNT! Creating the PDF locally produces a document where only 1/2 of the hyperlinks are captured... come on folks. This is garbage.
My guess is there are at least two separate, related issues: (1) the Acrobat Create PDF function doesn't work as expected and (2) producing PDFs from Word/Office. The Create PDF "button" doesn't seem to do anything beyond a basic "save as" function, at least in Word/Office. No benefit to using and a false sense of confidence.
Separately, whether I use the "save as" (and choose PDF as File Type) or "Create PDF" function, I also need to choose the option for "Best for Electronic Distribution..." which uses an online service from MS. The links appear and work, but you can't do this without an internet connection and that isn't always possible.
Maybe that's how these genius programmers intended it to work, but sure sounds like a work-around and an undocumented trick... Very frustrating to have to figure it all out.
I hope this helps some of my fellow travelers.
