QuickBooks Won’t Stop Asking to Reboot? Here’s What to Do
Seeing the “QuickBooks requires that you reboot” message over and over can be frustrating. This issue often occurs after an incomplete installation or software update, leaving QuickBooks stuck in a reboot loop.
The most common solution is using the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Download and install it, then go to the Installation Issues tab and run the Quick Fix My Program and Install Diagnostic Tool.
If that fails, try manually resetting update settings. Go to Control Panel > Programs, select QuickBooks, and choose Repair. Also, ensure all Windows updates are complete, as outdated system files can contribute to the problem.
Advanced users can go into the Windows Registry and remove the PendingFileRenameOperations key under HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager, but this should be done with caution.
