Support PDF JavaScript and “Add Initials” in Acrobat Reader for Android
I use interactive PDF forms containing Acrobat JavaScript. After a user adds a signature or initials, the script automatically locks specific form fields by setting them to read-only.
This workflow works in the desktop version of Adobe Acrobat, but not in Acrobat Reader for Android. The mobile app does not support the required JavaScript functions and does not provide the same “Add Initials” option available on desktop. As a result, the completed form remains editable and the intended document workflow cannot be completed securely on a tablet.
Please add:
- Support for Acrobat JavaScript in interactive PDF forms
- The same “Add Initials” function available in the desktop version
- Support for automatically locking form fields after adding a signature or initials
This would make it possible to complete and protect professional PDF forms properly on Android tablets and smartphones.

This would be a very useful improvement for anyone using interactive PDF forms on Android. The ability to run the same Acrobat JavaScript functions and automatically lock fields after signing or adding initials would make mobile workflows much more reliable. Having feature parity with the desktop version would be especially valuable for professional forms that need to be completed securely on tablets.
