Same thing happens to me but with Sora semibold and Source Code Pro. I use them in Word, then use Save to PDF or Export to PDF. The fonts appear as Times New Roman (or similar) with weird letter spacing.

I have a similar situation but using Word on a PC. When I export or save to PDF, the fonts Sora Semibold and Source Code Pro render as a serif font like Times, but with bad letter spacing. My colleague used the same Word doc and saved to PDF. In her instance the Sora Semibold appeared as Sora Light (or regular) in the PDF.
My workaround is to use the MS Word Print to PDF command which displays the fonts correctly, BUT when those PDFs are put on a web site with a thumbnail of the first page the heading in the thumbnail is garbled and unreadable.
I'm attaching the Word source file, the two PDFs, and a screenshot of the thumbnails.

See my note below about the same thing happening to me. And here are two examples - the Word document and the associated PDF which is missing a key heading.

Also - I see there are several issues related to accessibility. I wonder if those are related to this missing text problem too. The only way I can solve the missing text problem is by turning off the 'Enable accessibility' options when I export or save to PDF from Word.

Same thing happens to me and to one of my work colleagues. I have the latest version of Acrobat DC via Creative Cloud.
