Posting this on behalf of a client using WIndows 11. She attempted to open a PDF with Adobe Reader both at work and home, expecting to be able to open and view the PDF as normal, only it suddenly forced her to sign in. Once she signed in, the .json files on both her computers were forcibly associated to Adobe, even though it can't open .json files. It is possible the app upgraded to Pro without a subscription, which I have read is a notable issue experienced by users. This is an issue as she was using a PYQT6 app utilizing .json files that could no longer be read once the association was hijacked. I had to go in and fix the association so it would point at a text editor that was compatible.
