Hate the browser viewer for PDF files
How the **** do I disable PDF files opening in Chrome, this is totally useless feature for me, and UI in Chrome is awful as **** ? I've tried to disable this feature both in Chrome and Adobe but the PDF files still keeps opening in the browser, which is infuriating. If there was any other reliable PDF viewer I would immediately uninstall Adobe because of this new update. Stop doing random updates and start asking from users what they actual need or want you twats.

Hi Shivya,
I use Windows, and I have tried everything possible I could find googling from the depths of the internet, nothing has worked so far.

Hi Atte,
Thanks for sharing your concerns and answering my questions with patience.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.If you are on Mac, please follow the steps to change your default PDF viewership to Acrobat app instead of Chrome -
1. Right click on a PDF local file on your desktop
2. Click on 'Get info'
3. There will be an option 'Open with'
4. Default to 'Acrobat App'
5. Click on Change all
6. Save your settingsAll your PDF local files will open in the Acrobat App going forward.
Please let me know if you have Windows.
Additionally, you can also change the setting for download files browsed on the web instead of opening it in chrome -
Click “Site Settings” on the right. Scroll down in Site Settings and click “Additional content settings” at the very bottom. In the expanded menu, select “PDF documents.” Toggle on the “Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome” option.
Hope the above helps you.
Thanks,

Hi Shivya,
I've done that multiple time, but PDF files still keep opening in Chrome, the only thing for me to left to try is virgin sacrifice or shooting the ******** computer into orbit.
1. I use Adobe Acrobat on desktop.
2. I did not install it myself, chrome installed it itself, only thing left for me to do was to accept to start to use the extension.
3. The scaling is awful in Chrome and the UI in general looks awful in Chrome. I have to scroll down the PDF like normal url web page, instead of looking at one page at a time and then changing to next page. And in some cases the PDF doesn't open up in a new tab but on top of the web page on, forcing me to go back and forth to open PDF again. And what if I have to open 20 different PDF files at the same time? Good lord I can say to RAM goodbye and watch my computer melt when temperatures reaches same degrees as the f***ing sun.Just revert this hole thing back to that it actually opens in the Acrobat app and go back to the drawing board with this thing, if you really want to follow this road to disaster.

Hi Atte,
Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.
You can go to the Extension options page and toggle the setting "Open PDFs in Acrobat" to disable opening PDFs in Acrobat in your browser.
However, would really like to understand a few things as feedback from your side -
1. Do you use Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat on desktop?
2. Did you install the Chrome extension yourself from the Chrome web store?
3. Can you share your feedback with respect to issues you are facing in viewing your PDF in Acrobat and how we can improve your experience? Thanks,
