Printing setting functionality portrait to landscape issue

Why is it that Adobe will not let me print a document to one page in landscape even when I select to use system dialogue landscape. Printing my document in portrait prints two pages no matter what I do and there does not seem to be a setting that will allow me to tell Adobe to use landscape.

Ideally, once the print is previewed the preview dialog handles the printing process further as per the system and settings.
