An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Dave,
We provide three ways of setting color to any annotation (highlight, underline etc)
- One is from Quick tools
- one is from properties dialog
- one is from inplace tools.
User can select any color they want and in filter we show all the colors of annot which are present on the document. Please let me know if you have any specific issue. A screenshot or recording would help in better understanding of the issue.

Sorry to hear that you're facing issues while working with Comments.
Unfortunately, i am not able to reproduce the behaviour that you've mentioned at my end.
Could you please help me understand the issue better by answering below queries:-
1- What is the Acrobat version that you're working on?
2- Is the issue happening with all the PDFs or a particular pdf?
3- After creating the comment on pdf, you can right click on the comment and click on properties. Could you please share the screenshot of the properties?
4- Could you please share a small screen recording of the issue where you also change the color and calligraphy? We will be eagerly waiting for your response.
Thanks,

An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Margo,
We have addressed the font-size-change issue in our latest release. Please update to the latest Acrobat version 23.008.20470 which contains the fix for this issue.
Regarding the other observations, both the observations are expected as when we add or change the property of the sticky note, a state gets attached to it and hence it doesn't delete if it is empty.
For highlight, underline, strikethrough and the draw annots like line, rectangle etc, we allow the empty state because these are markup annots and are widely used without content.
Please do let us know if you still face the size and font change issue with the latest Acrobat version. Thanks,
Prashant. An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Margo,
Thank you for sharing the video. It does answer all my questions.
Regarding sticky comment, we made this conscious call where we do not post empty sticky note in the document.
So if a sticky is added in the document and there is no content in it, we will delete it the next time user click on the document.
The only way to post the comment currently is by clicking on the post button or clicking anywhere else on the document.
The operation of clicking "x" button is equivalent to clicking cancel. that is why the sticky is getting deleted. I request you to please use post button to post the comment. You can use keyboard shortcut as well to post the comment. Keyboard shortcut for posting comment is CTRL+ENTER in win and CMD+ENTER in Mac.
now regarding font-change phenomenon, we are aware of this issue and are trying to address it in next Acrobat release.Best Regards,
Prashant. An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Margo
We had made this change sometime back that if there is any empty sticky note i.e a sticky note which does not have any content in it. If Empty sticky note is added in the doc and user clicks on the doc, then empty sticky note would be deleted.
Could you please confirm if this is what you're experiencing.
Also, could you please attach a small screen recording of both the issues that you're facing so that we can better understand and replicate the issue at our end.Best Regards,

An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Lambton,
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
This change was done to streamline the sharing action and simplifying the sharing experience.
Acrobat's new unified Share button combines sharing a link, sending the file by email, and sharing a file with others in one place. Apart from this, Acrobat now allows you to share your file using third-party apps like Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp.
Please let us know if you are facing any issues in the workflows. We would be happy to help you. Thanks,

An error occurred while saving the comment Prashant . commentedHi Helen,
Sorry to hear that you're facing trouble with the commenting workflow.
The option to add your custom colors in highlight or any other commenting tool is available in new update too.
You can click on the color palette and then click on setting icon, from there click on the colors button and from there you can choose a wide range of colors and create your custom color too. This step is same as before.
I am attaching a screenshot to guide you on the settings icon.
Please let us know if this resolves your concern.
We would be happy to help if you faces any further issues.

Hi Joanna,
Thank you for sharing the issue.
We made this change few releases back to make multiple times use of a single tool easier.
In case you do not want the tool to be selected, you can unselect the tool by clicking on the pin tool option in quick tools.
This will be a one time activity, which means if you deselect it, it will remain deselected until you pin it again manually.
I'm attaching two screenshot of pin tool, one in selected state and one in deselected state.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
